It's Tuesday once again, and here I am joining the #TTT or #ThreeTuneTuesday🤘🏻 Shoutout to @ablaze for the initiative.
Recently, I have noticed that I, myself, singing songs that are outside my usual musical taste. I'm blaming TikTok for this 🤣 TikTok has exposed me to a variety of music that isn't really my cup of tea. From catchy pop tunes, I found myself singing along to songs that I consider my guilty pleasures. But hey, I've come to realize that there's no shame in enjoying music that brings us joy!
With that, I'll share with you some of the songs I secretly enjoy singing along to 😆 Most of them are in Tagalog and feature rap music.
🎶 Sa Susunod Na Lang by Skusta Clee
Sa susunod na lang, sa susunod na lang
Ayaw kong nabibitin kaya mabuti pang
Ako'y uuwi na lang, sa susunod na lang
In English, the title Sa Susunod Na Lang translates to "Next Time". This one's all over TikTok 🤣 because of the song's upbeat rhythm and playful melody. It's kind of lighthearted in a tone that makes it easy to sing along to. There's also this fun, feel-good vibe whenever I hear this song.
By the way, do you know how to dance to this song? Check this out.
🎶 Lagi by Skusta Clee
Pagmasdan ang 'yong mga mata
Susundan, susundan sa'n man magpunta
The title of the song translates to 'Always' in English. The lyrics are actually pretty good as they convey different meanings. You can dedicate it to that special someone who changes your perspective on life's challenges, or it could symbolize embracing a new role, just like how Skusta Clee depicted it in the music video.
🎶 Titig by MC Einstein ft. Flow G, YuriDope and Jekkpot
The title Titig means gaze or look in English. It talks about how a single glance can make us feel something. I just can't get enough of this song! It's catchy, upbeat and the lyrics are simple, so I can sing it out with ease and have it memorized in no time. I can't believe I memorized this in such a short time!
Guilty pleasure songs are songs that we secretly enjoy, but feel embarrassed about liking because some considered them uncool. Our society tends to have certain expectations of what's acceptable or better, even with our choice of music. With that, we become self-conscious about which songs to listen to publicly.
But, remember that musical taste is personal and subjective, just like art itself in general. It's okay to like what we like even if others may not approve of it. These guilty pleasure songs might bring us comfort and happiness so let's not be ashamed of enjoying them.
What are your guilty pleasure songs?
