Hey everyone! Wishing you all an amazing day! Here’s @davidfar (Davood Faramarzi) with another original piece of music called "Dissolve." It's a song about relationships and one of the tracks I wrote in my recording studio, likely back in 2023.
(I don't have my old studio so I share this new photo in my new location that I took in 2025)
but I also have one old photo from my old Recording studio:
I recorded this track with my new acoustic guitar, an Ibanez PF15ECE-NT. It was one of the guitars I had planned to buy in the future, but with my family's help, I was able to purchase it earlier. In this song, you can hear how I used the guitar's pickup for recording. With my older guitar, I always had to record using a mic. While a mic has its own unique character, the pickup offers high-quality sound and eliminates background noise.
In some parts I used a vst Filter called Murda Melodies which adds a nice sound on guitar and make your guitars super guitar haha, cause you can even make it sound like a 12 string or even more than that, a lot of effects. in this song I used its telephone effect for the intro.
For the drums I used EZdrummer, I wanted it to have a huge sound so I worked on its sounds to make it big, and I wrote these drum notes differently than the usual way that I was writing drums (Focused on Kicks and Tama), I wanted these instruments to be busy like if we are on a stage playing live together.
For Bass, I used Modo Bass Vst but I wanted it to be between simple and advance, so when drums start playing Bass is more active than rest of parts.
For my vocals, I started with mid and low tones, and then for the chorus, I added harmonies to make the vocals sound fuller and more dynamic. I think it also makes the song more beautiful. Since I often struggle to decide whether to sing high or low, I use this technique in some of my songs.
This approach will be familiar to people who listen to bands like Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, and many other great old bands that used similar methods. Typically, I play the first line and, without any preparation, start singing along. I just pick a note instinctively, and because my ears are well-trained, I manage to catch the right notes and sing the harmony accurately. I do this entirely by experience—I never formally learned it.
Later, I remembered how I developed this skill. When I was a kid, my father would gather us all together, and we would sing a prayer in harmony. At the time, I didn’t know much about it, but it was during those moments that I unknowingly learned to sing harmonies. I’m not religious, but I think these aspects of religion—like communal singing—are truly wonderful.
In past (I think it was 2012) I was using Alctron MC002 mic which It was not bad, but later I bought an Australian made Mic called Rode NT1 which was more advanced than my previous mic.
At 0:43, I wanted to create a space for my vocals to shine and flow freely, so I decided to keep it simple with just an acoustic guitar playing emotional melodies. To enhance the atmosphere, I incorporated the natural harmonics technique on the guitar, using fingerpicking to bring out its delicate, bell-like tones.
At the end, I wrapped up the song with a short solo and a recurring riff that carries through to the conclusion, blending natural harmonics with regular picking to create a seamless flow.
Lyrics:
Nobody wants to dissolve it
I took all the blame on my shoulders
take it or leave it behind now
I don't have time for discussions
Breathing in and breathing out all the
pains that you've grown in my soul
fighting on a narrow string
we might fall and end this dream
I was young, and I had a heart
what you gave me, tear me apart
but I am not leaving, I am not leaving
myself in the dark, myself in the dark
cause I can fix, myself all alone
Chorus again:
nobody wants to dissolve it
I took all the blame on my shoulders
take it or leave it behind now
I don't have time for discussions
Breathing in and breathing out all the
pains that you've grown in my soul
fighting on a narrow string
we might fall and end this dream
How do I write lyrics?
I studied English Literature at university, but even before attending university, I had already begun writing songs and poems in two languages: Persian (Farsi) and English. From a young age, I wrote poems in Persian (from when I was 7 years old), and later, when I learned English, I started creating songs and poems in that language as well.
