Nuevamente, vamos a recordar un poco más de mi infancia. Como saben, he comentado muchas veces que desde niño me agradó la música algo que todavía a mis 40 años considero mi mejor alimento, la medicina perfecta para el alma. Mi madre también es muy fanática a la música. No es de aquellas mujeres que ejecutan algún instrumento o canta, pero si les puedo decir que sabe disfruta del arte. Sobre todo, cuando baila. Lo hace con mucha pasión aun cuando mi padre no baila ni la cucaracha ja ja ja…
Once again, let's remember a little more of my childhood. As you know, I have commented many times that since I was a child I loved music, something that I still consider my best food, the perfect medicine for the soul. My mother is also a big fan of music. She is not one of those women who plays an instrument or sings, but I can tell you that she enjoys art. Especially when she dances. She does it with a lot of passion even though my father doesn't even dance the cockroach ha ha ha ha...
Cuando era un niño y no recuerdo exactamente la edad, vivíamos en un edificio muy pequeño donde solo tenía 4 apartamentos y dos de ellos se mantuvieron vacíos. Por lo menos hasta que viví allí. Justo al lado del apartamento donde vivía había una familia francesa o bueno, el señor de la casa era un francés. La mamá de los muchachos era una venezolana. En fin, entre los hijos de la pareja existía un niño de mi edad con el cual pase mucho tiempo de mi infancia con él. Era gracioso ya que éramos él, mi hermana y yo los únicos niños en el pequeño edificio pero eran muy pocas las veces que mi hermana se juntaba con nosotros a jugar.
When I was a kid and I don't remember exactly how old I was, we lived in a very small building where I only had 4 apartments and two of them were kept empty. At least until I lived there. Right next to the apartment where I lived there was a French family or well, the master of the house was a Frenchman. The boys' mother was a Venezuelan. Anyway, among the couple's children there was a boy my age with whom I spent a lot of my childhood with. It was funny because he, my sister and I were the only children in the small building, but my sister rarely joined us to play.
En dicha época el gran rey del pop estrenaba Dangerous. De hecho, diciendo esto podría decir con claridad nuestra mi edad y la de mi amigo. Ambos teníamos 7 años y es aquí cuando digo WOW. Como pasa el tiempo. Con razón ya sufro de la espalda ja ja ja… Éramos muy fanáticos de Michael Jackson sobre todo de sus películas, sobre todo en aquella donde se disfraza de un conejo para evadir a los que lo persiguen. Sin mencionar cuando se transforma en un robot gigante. Qué momentos tan épicos ahora que los recuerdo. Y es acá donde la frase ¨Recordar es vivir¨ se carga de más fuerza. Éramos dos niños fanáticos de la música de Jackson a tal punto que los acetatos del mismo, no nos faltaban en la colección de disco de nuestros padres. En aquella época mi abuelo paterno tenía una tienda de discos lo cual, por ende, era más fácil tener acceso a toda esa discografía.
At that time the great king of pop was releasing Dangerous. In fact, by saying this I could clearly tell my age and my friend's age. We were both 7 years old and this is when I say WOW. How time flies. No wonder I already suffer from back pain ha ha ha ha... We were big fans of Michael Jackson especially his movies, especially the one where he disguises himself as a rabbit to evade those chasing him. Not to mention when he transforms into a giant robot. What epic moments now that I remember them. And it is here where the phrase “To remember is to live” is charged with more force. We were two kids who were so fanatic about Jackson's music that we never lacked Jackson's acetates in our parents' record collection. At that time my paternal grandfather had a record store which, therefore, was easier to have access to all that discography.
Lo gracioso de todo este recuerdo, es que ambos nos reuníamos en algún momento del día solo para escuchar a Jackson y era justo en ese momento donde intentábamos recrear las coreografías de sus películas. Hubo una fiesta de mi abuela donde ambos, o sea, mi amigo y yo, planeamos dar un espectáculo en dicha fiesta y como ya han leído, sí, nos pusimos como niños a dar un fantástico baile de Jackson. Menos mal no hubo forma de grabar ese regalo para mi abuela porque hoy me diera mucha risa y a su vez mucha nostalgia. Hoy que recuerdo todo esto y sé lo feliz que fui de niño.
The funny thing about this whole memory is that both of us would get together at some point during the day just to listen to Jackson and it was right at that moment when we would try to recreate the choreographies of his movies. There was a party at my grandmother's where both of us, meaning my friend and I, planned to put on a show at said party and as you have read, yes, we were like kids putting on a fantastic Jackson dance. Thank goodness there was no way to record that gift for my grandmother because today it would give me a lot of laughter and at the same time a lot of nostalgia. Today I remember all this and I know how happy I was as a child.
Los videos musicales que les compartiré son emblemáticos del artista, sobre todo en sus películas. Quisiera empezar este momento musical con este icónico momento en donde Jackson se disfraza y luego el disfraz toma vida. Espero que lo recuerden como lo hago yo. Es fantástico y para no hacer esto más largo. Les colocaré dos canciones más que por supuesto vale la pena recordar al verdadero y todavía único rey del Pop el gran Michael Jackson.
The music videos I will share with you are emblematic of the artist, especially in his movies. I would like to start this musical moment with this iconic moment where Jackson disguises himself and then the disguise comes to life. I hope you remember it as I do.
