Exploring my vinyl collection, one letter at a time...
I've been collecting records for as long as I can remember, and sometimes it's easy to skip over things, and forget what you've got. I'm going to start listening to things in alphabetical order, it give me a chance to look through my collection again, and give me an opportunity to share things with other music lovers, and vinyl collectors.
The rules are simple, I will start at A, and choose an artist from my collection beginning with that letter, next day I move on to B, then C, etc. So let's begin...
A is for...
Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier
Released in 1980, Kings of the Wild Frontier is the second album by Adam and the Ants, a new wave band formed in London a few years earlier. It wasn't the first Adam and the Ants album I bought, that was prince Charming, but it's maybe my favourite.
I first heard of Adam and the Ants watching Stand and Deliver and Prince Charming on music shows like Top of the Pops, later buying a few 7" singles at a music fair. It was really the start of my music buying habit, which I haven't found a cure for yet, so this seems like a great place to start!
