The Farmboy's cousin is getting married today, which was kind of a shocker for us because we often see him at the construction site, but we only learned about it yesterday evening. We thought it was intentional so people wouldn't flock to the wedding, but what do we know? LOL!
Well, the occasion inspired today's music recommendation for my participation in the TTT initiative by Ablaze. And here we go!
On This Day (David Pomeranz)
David was one of my favorite artists ever since his Born For You album, which he recorded here in the Philippines (1999), so I feel nostalgic whenever I listen to his songs.
He is known for writing songs for various major artists including Barry Manilow, Richie Sambora, Bette Midler, Freddie Mercury, Danny Gokey, Kenny Rogers, The Hollies, Phoebe Snow, Billy Dean, Missy Elliott, Lea Salonga, The Carpenters, Glen Campbell, The Muppets, Mel Brooks, Clay Aiken, and John Denver.
Anyway, I thought this single of his was a perfect wedding song. It was included on our playlist almost 15 years ago.
That's What Love Is (Alexandra Kay)
I just discovered Alexandra Kay recently through this beautiful song. The lyrics had me, AK's voice, and the country vibes.
Accordingly, she started in the entertainment business when she was young, doing commercials and voice-over work. She is now an independent artist with her own fan base. She has collaborated with other Country artists, like Tim McGraw, Tracy Lawrence, and Jo Dee Messina.
Beautiful in White (Shane Filan)
Of course, this would not skip my list! I may have shared this song when I featured the Irish singer-songwriter Shane in one of my TTT editions. The song was part of his Love Always album, which was released in 2017, although he recorded a demo of it in 2006.
Accordingly, it is a popular wedding song here in Asia (well, we often hear it being played at wedding receptions). The artist performed it on two television series (Rising Star Indonesia and Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend).
Well, that's it for today. GTG because there's a wedding to catch, lol! Thank you, and until we read again :)
