This is what happened with Celia Cruz, paradigm of Cuban son and guaracha; also with La Lupe, who had a salsa voice as powerful as that of Celia Cruz, but they coincided at the same time and Celia was unbeatable. The mantle of oblivion or ignorance on the island also covered Olga Guillot with her powerful voice for the bolero.
Not only do we ignore these and other great women but also countless men like the jazzman Bebo Valdés, Willy Chirino and others. Arocena, la voz esculpida en ébano
Amigos de @music, cuando escuché por primera vez a Daymé Arocena me dije esta negra tiene tumbao. Así decimos de forma popular a las personas que tienen habilidades para el canto y el baile.
Los cubanos conocen poco de esta cantante, la estructura política ha marcado la ignorancia cultural como una estrategia para debilitar espiritualmente nuestra sociedad. Los cubanos desconocemos mucho del talento que ha nacido en esta tierra.
Así pasó con Celia Cruz, paradigma del son y la guaracha cubana; también con La Lupe poseedora de una voz salsera tan poderosa como la de Celia Cruz pero coincidieron en la misma época y la Celia fue insuperable. El manto de olvido o la ignorancia en la isla también cubrieron a Olga Guillot con su potente voz para el bolero.
No sólo desconocemos a estas y otras grandes mujeres sino a innumerables hombres como el jazzista Bebo Valdés, Willy Chirino y otros.
Aimé Arocena, nació en 1992, en medio de un cruel Período Especial y no quiero imaginar en que circunstancias llegó al mundo porque no es un secreto para nadie que en Cuba la población negra es desfavorecida en todos los sentidos.
Pero la providencia es sabia.
En esta canción, cuyo video clip está ambientado en la Habana de arquitectura en fase de destrucción pero aún hermosa. Ya se destaca una Daymé de voz segura y vibrante.
La rumba me llamo yo nos presenta una artista muy segura del género y muy segura de sí misma.
El fraseo popular también dice que al que Dios se lo dio, San Pedro se lo bendiga y la chica nació con voz potente, musicalidad y gracia que supera cualquier discriminación. Y mientras les doy otros detalles de esta joven artistas le sugiero ir escuchando esta segunda pieza: A fuego lento en la Daymé parece revelarse ante aquellos que vaticinan que no tiene futuro en el mundo del arte porque no es prototipo de belleza.
Y así es, en Cuba Aimé sintió discriminación, ¿a donde va ir una negra que más valga?, es una frase recurrente en la misma población cubana, siempre hubo y habrá discriminación racial y como diría mi madre en Cuba los negros, locos y pobres no son mirados igual.
Y como tercera sugerencia les dejo Trilogia, una Daymé consagrada en su estilo mezcla de canción, jazz, rumba y un desenfado típico de los grandes artistas herederos y portadores de una cultura ancestral
Aimé Arocena llegó con todo, defendiendo géneros complicados como la rumba, el Jazz, el Hip-Hop y el Rap entre otros. La rumba les viene en los genes a los afro descendiente; donde haya negro hay tambor, hay canto yoruba y llamado ancestral. Con todos esos atributos nació la hermosa Arocena con su voluminoso diafragma que da capacidad al aire para lanzar todas las notas musicales alojadas en esa garganta prodigiosa
Nadie puede ocultar ni opacar el talento de Aimé Arocena, una personalidad arrolladora en el escenario con los pies descalzos en comunión con la tierra. Su voz vuela demasiado lejos. Pertenece a una generación que se empodera desde las redes sociales y desde los mejores escenarios del mundo y ello es imposible de ocultar.
Algunos temen decirme negra, dijo Daymé en televisión. La negritud es la mejor parte, de ello viene todo el prodigio como un tributo. El Latin Grammy es solo el comienzo.
