Today I want to talk about a topic that has been buzzing for a few months now, and that is Miley Cyrus' new album. It has been criticized in every way, whether it be good reviews, bad reviews, song plagiarism, high-quality music videos, but overall an extremely experimental sound that no one expected after Endless Summer Vacation, her successful 2023 album and Grammy winner. Is it really bad? I recommend these three songs from her tracklist:

Hoy quiero hablar de un tema que ha venido sonando desde hace algunos meses, y ese es el nuevo álbum de Miley Cyrus. Ha sido criticado en todos los sentidos, ya sean críticas buenas, malas, plagios de canciones, videos musicales de gran calidad pero en general un sonido extremadamente experimental que nadie esperaba después de Endless Summer Vacation, su exitoso álbum de 2023 y ganador del Grammy. ¿Es realmente malo?, te recomiendo estas tres canciones de su tracklist:

1. Something Beautiful

I'll make my position clear from the outset: “I think this album is great.” It shows a Miley Cyrus who has discovered herself as an artist, her performance is dreamlike, and her evolution towards more adult sounds, far from the teen pop of Hannah Montana, fits perfectly with a person who has changed and become more mature in every way. Something Beautiful is the song that gives the album its name, and at the same time my favorite, combining rock and a touch of jazz in the base. She is characterized as a commercial artist, but this music is very experimental, which is why she has received the best reviews from major music companies, but to a certain extent the rejection of the public who expected more massive and summer hits.

Dejaré clara mi posición desde el primer momento: "Este álbum me parece genial". Muestra a una Miley Cyrus que se ha descubierto así mismo como artista, su interpretación es de ensueño y su evolución hacia sonidos más adultos, lejos del pop adolescente de Hannah Montana encaja perfecto con una persona que ha cambiado y se ha hecho más madura en todos los sentidos. Something Beautiful es la canción que da nombre al álbum, y al mismo tiempo mi preferida, combinando rock y un toque de jazz en la base. Se caracteriza por ser una artista comercial, pero esta música es muy experimental, motivo por el cual ha recibido las mejores críticas de grandes empresas musicales, pero hasta cierto punto el repudio del público que esperaba más éxitos masivos y de verano.

2. End Of The World

This is perhaps the best-known song on the album so far, and that's because, in addition to being the promotional single, it has a commercial and very modern sound, and when I say modern, I mean the disco sound of the 70s that is now at the forefront of the pop world. There was a lot of controversy surrounding it because it sounded a lot like a popular ABBA song, and something that made me laugh was when people started saying that she was copying Paulina Rubio. I don't think Miley knows who Paulina is... The music videos from this era are great, but like the songs, they're too long for people who are just looking for disposable music, so I think only true fans and lovers of good music will appreciate an album like this, with its great vocals, great performances, and fusion of different musical genres.

Quizás esta sea la canción más conocida del álbum hasta el momento, y es que además de ser el sencillo promocional tiene un sonido comercial y muy moderno, y cuando digo moderno me refiero al sonido disco de los 70's que hoy se encuentra a la palestra del mundo pop. Hubo mucha polémica a su al rededor por sonar mucho a una popular canción de ABBA y algo que me hizo reír, cuando comenzaron a decir que estaba copiando a Paulina Rubio 😅 no creo que Miley sepa quién es Paulina... Los videos musicales de esta era son geniales, pero al igual que las canciones son muy largos para gente que solo busca música pasajera, así que opino que solo verdaderos fans y amantes de la buena música apreciarán un álbum como este, buena voz, buena interpretación y fusión de diversos géneros musicales.

3. Every Girl You've Ever Loved Ft. Naomi Campbell

This third recommendation I'm making has a music video that, at the time of writing this post, has been on YouTube for less than 24 hours, and it's great, with a very powerful electropop sound. The surprise for many who haven't heard the album yet is a “collaboration” with supermodel Naomi Campbell, who doesn't actually sing, she just recites, but even without being a pop star, she's another well-known diva who adds popularity to the album, or at least I hope so. I'm sure the song will catch the attention of the general public, and I feel like it could have been a great first single, even though it's still a very experimental sound. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Esta tercera recomendación que les hago tiene un video musical que para este momento en que escribo mi post no tiene ni 24 horas de haber sido estrenado en Youtube y es genial, con un sonido electropop muy poderoso. La sorpresa que muchos que no han escuchado el álbum aún es una "colaboración" con la súper modelo Naomi Campbell, quien en realidad no canta, solo recita, pero sin ser una estrella del pop igual es otra conocida diva que suma popularidad al álbum, o al menos eso espero, estoy seguro que la canción llamará la atención del público en general y siento que pude haber sido un gran primer sencillo, aunque no deja de ser un sonido muy experimental. Espero la disfruten tanto como yo.

As a bonus, I'm sharing the music video for Easy Lover, which came out about a month ago and turned out to be the second most popular song on this album to date. It hasn't had the same success as the previous album, but it hasn't gone unnoticed either. Miley has a loyal fanbase that always seems to support each of her crazy ideas. In fact, this isn't the first experimental album she's made. Let's not forget Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz from 2015, which was a really abstract time for her fans, including me...

Como Ñapa les comparto el vidoe musical de Easy lover, salió hace como un mes y resultó ser la segunda canción de este álbum que ha sido más popular hasta la fecha. Vaya que no ha tenido el mismo éxito del álbum anterior, pero tampoco ha pasado desapercibido, Miley tiene un fadom seguro que siempre parece apoyar cada una de sus locuras, de hecho, este no es el primer disco experimental que hace, no olvidemos a Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz de 2015, esa sí que fue una época abstracta para sus fans 😅 incluyéndome...
