Nostalgia
That one is a recurrent theme in my blog. I talk about it a lot because parts of me like my past better than what I have now. Nostalgia itself isn’t bad, in fact it has its positives. Anyhow, It’s my first time sharing three tunes for tuesday. It seems pretty fun to do and I reckon, sharing my music taste with all of you. Technically, it’s already Wednesday where I live but hey, let’s move back to the past a little bit. After all it’s nostalgia!
Fun fact, back in steem days about 5 years ago, I and some other people used to run a community called SMA, a music community where we host music, collaborate, learn about music and curate- that’s basically the same thing that we have now. It was really fun running that particular community and it stayed for a while until well… some friction happening here and there. From that community, I learned the ins and out about blockchain and how it benefits artists, etc. I also learned that there are musicians out there who have the talents but have yet to be discovered by the world. It really was fun and I learned so much of it. Eventually I stepped away from music followed by quitting the choir and the band I was in. The rest of my musical interest is history.
Just a week ago, I started checking out my old soundcloud and the playlist. It’s interesting how my music taste changes overtime and it’s reflected in my most listened songs. But in terms of genre listen to variations of alternative, R&B, Soul, Although I am always open for new things, like at some point, I enjoyed classical music and Ólafur Arnalds or FKJ who are both instrumentalist and super talented musician. But I'll talk about them later. This time, here are my three tunes for Tuesday.
Chris Lee “ Found Her”
I was recommended this one 4 years ago, I love the tune and just overall vibe. This is the song I listen to when I am on a road trip, it just sets the tone. These days since I found my old playlist, I listen to it almost everyday.
La La Land DVBBS and Shaun Frank
This was released back in 2001 and I found it about 7 years ago. I don’t really like his current songs and especially something just missing when he’s not collaborating with Delaney jane. But his old ones with delaney and ashe were the shit. It was when EDM was about fun, traveling, and living a yolo life. These days, I just don’t get the same vibe from it.
Wanderlust Blackbear
If you’re following modern music, at some point you’d hear about blackbear. He collaborated with a lot of musicians and he got into some top charts quite often. I found blackbear when he created deadroses album. Although my most favorite album was digital druglord and cybersex. Wanderlust itself is part of Cashmere Noose and this song was specifically about those girls who write “wanderlust” as her bio on social media. It’s quite a satire although now, these kinds of wanderlust girls are already overrated but back in the day, it was a fresh idea that despite you’re probably working as a bartender, dishwashe, in reality but in social media, anyone could be world travelers. At one point, there was a saying too, "anything for the gram."
If you want to participate, check out @ablaze blog to know more about it. It's just only today I get the time to participate despite browsing through and reading entries about it every week. Now I know, why it's fun to share things like this.
