Friends give us the peace and balance our hearts and souls need to calm down. A chat, a coffee, an I love you, a hug, an emoji, a word of support or just a look, helps us to lift our spirits after the storm. It is for this reason that we must keep them in a special place.
They are able to understand us without even saying a word, because they know our gestures and looks, which may go unnoticed for some people, but for friends it is not so.
I believe that a chat over coffee and a friend helps us to get up after a big storm and wake up from a nightmare. Problems never end, but the important thing is to have a friend, to look for the solution. They are there to make our lives easier and to help us cope with the bitterness. Especially when you are a teenager, you don't know what you want? And if we don't have good friends who are there for us, life is chaos.
In my case, I had three friends my age, who started together from school until the fifth grade. My neighbors on both sides, they don't fall under the definition of friends because they were my sisters. Their parents were my uncles and aunts, only Grandma Teresa remains, from that big family. Cristi, Ali, Flor, Angel, Jose and Argenis, Mary are my siblings. We grew up together as siblings. We are comadres, aunts and grandmothers. It is a bond that has not been lost since 1969, when we moved to my neighborhood. Family ties, even without being consanguineous, much stronger than those of blood.
On the other hand, fellow students, some come and some go, but there are always special ones who stay. Life takes us on different paths, but when we need each other, they are there. In my case, my dorm mates, especially my roommates, treated me like a little sister because they had to complete their last semesters and thesis before graduating. I also had friends with whom I studied, and I went “bonche” as we Venezuelans say.
Rosi is my sister-in-law, comadre, and sister of my “Esposito”. We knew each other since high school and we met again years later when he was going to visit his sister. From there, I grabbed him and dragged him to church. Just in case, he got away from me. Oh la la la
It's worth noting that there are people who are very shy and find it hard to approach because you have a group and are embarrassed to feel left out. People who feel lonely and are afraid of being rejected. They live in a shell so they don't get hurt by other people's attitudes. That happened with my first friend of the opposite sex. Chuchú, he told me with a song. Yes, he asked me to dance. I was, then, fourteen years old. OMG! My face was a poem.
We are still friends, and when we meet, it seems like only yesterday that we stopped seeing each other. He's not a lover, he's my soulmate. I can say, I have friends and I have never seen them as a couple. I will tell you that men in matters of friendship are more faithful and committed than women. Maybe I am wrong, but I think so. My dear Miguel, his parents sent him to Italy after graduating from high school and he never came back. We keep in touch, we write by Gmail and Facebook.
He is the creator of the “Camatagua antennas”. It seems like only yesterday when he would come running in, sweaty and red as an apple because he is white. Shouting:
“Turn on your Camatagua, I have a gossip for you, buenoisimooo!”-.
Even if it was a silly thing, or any event, he was always there with his beautiful smile. I can't leave aside Hector, my tears cloth. He is like my eldest son. I dedicate this week's three #TreeTuneTuesday tunes to my friends. These songs are very personal, from my life story, happy events that I share with you and friend @ablaze today.

Los amigos nos dan la paz y el equilibrio que necesita el alma y el corazón para apaciguarse. Una tertulia, un café, un te quiero, un abrazo, un emoji, una palabra de apoyo o tan solo una mirada, nos ayuda a levantar el ánimo después de la tempestad. Es por esta razón, que hay que guardarlos en un lugar especial.
Ellos son capaces de entendernos sin siquiera decir una palabra, porque conocen nuestros gestos y miradas, que quizás pasan desapercibidas para algunas personas, pero para los amigos no es así.
Creo que una tertulia con café y un amigo nos ayuda a levantarnos después de una gran tormenta y despertar de una pesadilla. Los problemas nunca se acaban, pero lo importante es tener un amigo, para buscar la solución. Ellos están ahí, para hacernos la vida más fácil y sobrellevar las amarguras. Sobre todo, cuando se es adolescente, que no se sabe, ¿qué es lo que queremos? Y si no tenemos buenos amigos que estén a nuestro, la vida es un caos.
En mi caso, tuve tres amiguis de mi edad, que iniciamos juntas desde la escuela hasta el quinto año. Mis vecinas de ambos lado, no entran en la definición de amigos porque eran mis hermanas. Sus padres eran mis tíos, solo queda abuelita Teresa, de esa gran familia. Cristi, Ali, Flor, Ángel, José y Argenis, Mary son mis hermanos. Nos criamos juntos como hermanos. Somos comadres, tías y abuelas. Es un lazo que no se ha perdido desde el año 1969, que nos mudamos en mi barrio. Lazos de familia, aun sin ser consanguíneos, mucho más fuertes que los de sangre.
Por otro lado, los compañeros de estudios, unos van y otros vienen, pero siempre hay especiales que se quedan. La vida nos lleva por caminos distintos, pero cuando nos necesitamos, están allí. En mi caso, mis compañeras de residencia, sobre todo las de habitación, me trataron como una hermanita menor porque a ellas, les faltaban los últimos semestres y tesis para graduarse. También tuve amigas con las cuales estudié, y fui de “bonche” como decimos los venezolanos.
Rosi es mi cuñada, comadre, y hermana de mi “Esposito”. Nos conocíamos desde el liceo y volvimos a reencontrarnos años después cuando iba a visitar a su hermana. De allí, lo agarré y arrastré a la iglesia. Por si acaso, se me escapaba. Oh la la
Cabe destacar que hay personas muy tímidas y que les cuesta acercarse porque tienes un grupo y le da pena sentirse excluidos. Personas que se sienten solas y temen ser rechazadas. Viven con una coraza para que no le dañe las actitudes de otras personas. Eso pasó con mi primer amigo del sexo opuesto. Chuchú, me lo dijo con una canción. Sí, me saco a bailar. Tenía, entonces, catorce años. ¡OMG! Mi cara era un poema.
Todavía somos amigos, y cuando nos encontramos, parece que fue ayer que dejamos de vernos. No es un enamorado, es mi amigo del alma. Puedo decir, que tengo amigos y nunca los he visto como pareja. Les diré que los hombres en cuestión de amistad son más fieles y comprometidos que las mujeres. Quizás me equivoco, pero así lo creo. Mi querido Miguel, sus padres lo enviaron a Italia después de graduarse de bachiller y no volvió. Nos mantenemos en contacto, escribimos por Gmail y Facebook.
Él es el creador de las “antenas Camatagua”. Parece que fue ayer cuando llegaba corriendo, sudado y rojo como una manzana porque es blanco. Gritando:
“Enciendan su Camatagua, les tengo un chisme, ¡buenisimooo!”-
Aunque fuera una tontería, o cualquier evento, siempre estaba con su linda sonrisa. No puedo dejar de lado, a Héctor, mi paño de lágrimas. Es como mi hijo mayor. Le dedico a mis amigos las tres melodías de #TreeTuneTuesday de esta semana. Estas canciones son muy personales, de mi historia de vida, eventos felices que hoy comparto con ustedes y con el amigo @ablaze.

Un largo recorrido desde mi adolescencia, pero recuerdo todavía a mis amigos. Los que han pasado por mi vida, formaron parte de mi historia y se quedaron en mi corazón. Les traigo tres melodías dedicadas a los amigos, esos seres de luz que nos acompañan en las buenas y en las malas. Siempre están allí para darnos apoyo y comprensión. Entre los cantantes que han dedicado canciones a los amigos se encuentra el cantautor y músico brasileño, Roberto Carlos.
El puesto de honor, el número uno, es la canción “Amigo”, lanzada en el año 1977, en el álbum: "Roberto Carlos (1977, remasterizado)"

Como todo buen venezolano, no puede faltar mi ñapa, y les voy a dejar a la famosa e inolvidable Sarah Brightman y el cantante español, José Carreras, con la canción “Amigos para siempre”. Esta melodía fue el tema oficial de los Juegos Olímpicos de verano de 1992 celebrados en Barcelona, España.
