Hoy quiero contarles a través de mi voz la historia de una niña, cuya inocencia se enternece en una bella melodía. ¿Y tú qué has hecho?; me evoca una profunda nostalgia y reflexión sobre el amor y el paso del tiempo a través de una metáfora naturalista. Una hermosa canción del compositor cubano Eusebio Delfín y popularizada por Buena Vista Social Club, este último caracterizado por explorar a menudo temas de amor, pérdida y nostalgia, resonando profundamente en la cultura cubana y latina, donde la música es un vehículo para la expresión emocional y la conexión con la historia personal y colectiva.
No sólo me refería al inicio a la niña cuya historia se refleja en la canción, sino también a mi. Cuando era pequeña, mi abuelita, me cantaba esta canción todos los días, era su preferida, y yo, aún sin entender su significado me fui aprendiendo poco a poco su melodía; cuando crecí, me di cuenta del mensaje tan valioso de su letra, y hoy en día cada vez que escucho esta canción en la radio me acuerdo de ella, de su voz y de la ternura con que me cantaba, y es por ello que he querido traerles hoy este hermoso recuerdo; la imagen de una niña que graba su nombre en el tronco de un árbol, simbolizando la marca que dejamos en nuestras primeras experiencias de afecto.
