I haven't been very familiar with French language music and I see that I've been missing out some good stuff. Paul van Haver a.k.a. Stromae makes music in the Belgian New Beat style. He said in an interview that he likes to combine elements from a multitude of styles.
My daughter has French in school. She already knows English really well. I'll introduce Stromae to her. If she develops an interest in this or other French language music, the maybe listening to the lyrics with the English subtitles can help her pick up French vocabulary. (I already learned a few from these.)
