Existen muchos idiomas; al momento de conectar con la música y la cultura coreana, me atrapó desde muy joven a través de sus novelas y sus grupos musicales y entre ellos conocí a BTS, una de mis bandas favoritas del Kpop que ha ganado fama y se posiciona como una de las bandas de Corea del Sur más escuchadas. En este post quiero recomendarles y hablarles de mis canciones favoritas de BTS y del porqué siento que pude conectar con una banda que, aunque tiene un idioma totalmente diferente para mí, me hace sentir feliz y emocionada. 💗
Hello, friends of the Music community, I hope you are well today. There are many languages; when connecting with Korean music and culture, I was caught from a very young age through their novels and musical groups and among them I met BTS, one of my favorite Kpop bands that has gained fame and is positioned as one of the most listened South Korean bands. In this post I want to recommend and tell you about my favorite BTS songs and why I feel I was able to connect with a band that, even though it has a totally different language for me, makes me feel happy and excited. 💗
BTS comenzó en el año 2013 a ganar popularidad, pero no fue sino hasta el 2014 que encontré videos de ellos en YouTube y que empecé a escucharlos con mi hermana, quien tiene también un cariño muy grande por esta cultura. Recuerdo que de todas las bandas que había escuchado esta tenía una forma particular de engancharte y de sentirte escuchado a través de sus canciones, ya que en cada una de ellas ponen de su inspiración y de su amor por la música y hacen que se hable a través de ellos sobre temas como el dolor, el amor, la amistad, el olvido, la tristeza, la experiencia de la vida, los temores como seres humanos y la diversión de hacer lo que tanto aman.
BTS began to gain popularity in 2013, but it was not until 2014 that I found videos of them on YouTube and started listening to them with my sister, who also has a great affection for this culture. I remember that of all the bands I had listened to this one had a particular way of hooking you and making you feel heard through their songs, since in each of them they put of their inspiration and love for music and make you talk through them about topics such as pain, love, friendship, forgetfulness, sadness, life experience, fears as human beings and the fun of doing what they love so much.
De las primeras canciones que escuché fue Boy In Luv, una canción de jóvenes queriendo experimentar su juventud y la experiencia del amor, de una manera en la que solo como jóvenes podemos llegar a sentir. Es una canción muy movida y tiene una coreografía increíble, como la mayoría de sus coreografías; además, siento que esta canción abrió parte del camino para que ellos se convirtieran en lo que hoy son. Es pegadiza y me encanta de principio a fin; siento que cada vez que quiero sentirme feliz la escucho y siento la euforia que causa esta canción.
One of the first songs I heard was Boy In Luv, a song of young people wanting to experience their youth and the experience of love, in a way that only as young people we can feel. It's a very up-tempo song and has amazing choreography, like most of their choreography; plus, I feel like this song paved part of the way for them to become who they are today. It is catchy and I love it from beginning to end; I feel that every time I want to feel happy I listen to it and I feel the euphoria that this song causes.
Como grupo, también tienen canciones que te hacen querer llorar o al menos sentirte conmovido; entre esas está Hold Me Tight, que tiene una letra donde se demuestra el deseo por querer estar con esa persona especial. Es casi una súplica a la relación y a lo que desearían tener con esa persona. Me encanta la versión en vivo; se siente increíble poder escuchar una de mis canciones favoritas, aunque sea a través de YouTube, y poder sentir la emoción del momento mientras suena con su letra: ...Can you trust me? Es de mis favoritas y me parece de las mejores que tienen como grupo.
As a group, they also have songs that make you want to cry or at least feel moved; among those is Hold Me Tight, which has lyrics that demonstrate the desire to want to be with that special person. It's almost a plea to the relationship and what they wish they could have with that person. I love the live version; it feels amazing to be able to listen to one of my favorite songs, even if it's through YouTube, and be able to feel the emotion of the moment as it plays with its lyrics: ...Can you trust me? It's one of my favorites and I think it's one of the best they have as a group.
De mi lista no puede faltar Spring Day, que es una canción que me hace sentir susceptible; es una historia que refleja esa sensación de melancolía sobre el futuro, así lo siento yo. Me hace recordar momentos que he vivido con personas especiales, incluso me hace sentir muy triste, aunque es una canción hermosa y tiene un arreglo musical increíble. El video es muy bonito y ya aquí la banda estaba comenzando a tener más fama internacionalmente; empezaban a recoger los frutos de su esfuerzo y amor por lo que hacen.
From my list you can't miss Spring Day, which is a song that makes me feel touchy; it's a story that reflects that feeling of melancholy about the future, that's how I feel. It makes me remember moments that I have lived with special people, it even makes me feel very sad, although it is a beautiful song and has an incredible musical arrangement. The video is very beautiful and already here the band was beginning to have more fame internationally; they were beginning to reap the fruits of their effort and love for what they do.
Butterfly fue otra de mis canciones favoritas en el comienzo de la banda, es hermosa y tiene una melodía muy suave y delicada. Me encanta la manera en que interpretan esta canción, que suena a libertad y a la vez tiene ese toque de esperanza que ellos agregan a cada una de sus canciones; no hay canción que no tenga una historia en el fondo y que represente algún momento o etapa de los miembros del grupo. Amo el inicio de la canción y el coro; me parece muy celestial.
Butterfly was another of my favorite songs in the beginning of the band, it is beautiful and has a very soft and delicate melody. I love the way they interpret this song, it sounds like freedom and at the same time it has that touch of hope that they add to each of their songs; there is no song that doesn't have a story in the background and that represents some moment or stage of the band members. I love the beginning of the song and the chorus; I find it very heavenly.
Hoy, como banda, BTS ha logrado muchos éxitos y, aunque no siempre los escucho, volver a hacerlo luego de un tiempo se siente bien y conecta con esa parte de mí que sueña, que cae y que se levanta para seguir adelante. Eso es lo que me transmiten sus canciones, cada uno con su voz y su forma de expresar sus emociones; eso es lo que hace que esta banda sea tan especial y tan querida por muchos. Me alegra haber coincidido con su música, sus historias y la manera en la que llenan al mundo de felicidad con su arte. 🥹
Today, as a band, BTS has achieved many successes and, although I don't always listen to them, listening to them again after a while feels good and connects with that part of me that dreams, that falls and gets up to keep going. That's what their songs convey to me, each one with their voice and their way of expressing their emotions; that's what makes this band so special and so loved by so many. I'm glad to have matched their music, their stories and the way they fill the world with happiness with their art. 🥹
