Was ist das JMA?
Das JMA ist eine Musik Cypher (Ein Musikvideo Turnie mit dem Fokus auf Rap, aber es sind auch andere Musikrichtungen erlaubt).
Im JMA ist mittlerweile ein Preisgeld von 5000 € zusammen gekommen.
Das Ganze wird veranstaltet von Jäääy. Jäääy ist ein YouTuber welcher seit mehreren Jahren mal mehr und mal weniger aktiv auf YouTube ist.
Anfänglich bestand sein Content hauptsächlich aus Reaktionsvideos auf das JBB (Julines Blog Battle) und JMC (Juliens Musik Cypher). Generell drehte es sich alles um den Juliensblog Kanal.
Mit der Zeit hat er sich jedoch weiter entwickelt und verschiedenste Formate rausgebracht. Dieses Jahr entschied er sich, er hat mal wieder Lust auf einer großen Musik Video Contest und kündigte die JMA an. Das Preisgeld lag am Anfang bei 4000 €, doch wurden in einem zusätzlichen Spendenstream um 1000 € erhöht. Die zusätzliche Spende kam aus seiner Community.
Das JMA Ankündigungsvideo hat eine wesentlich größere Reichweite als erwartet erzielt, selbst YouTuber wie KuchenTv haben dazu ein Video gemacht.

Der Vorschlag
Ich selbst habe von dem Turnier recht früh erfahren, darauf hin sprach ich mit einem Freund, der selber Musik macht und habe vorgeschlagen, dass wir dort mitmachen könnten. Das Infovideo habe ich ihm bei Whatsapp geteilt und habe ihm vorgeschlagen das ich sein videio kostelos produzieren wollen würde. Dazu habe ich auch gleich, wem engagiert, der sich um Mix & Mastering bei seinen Songs kümmern würde.
Daraufhin habe ich alles organisiert und wir haben uns zu dritt darauf geeinigt, wenn wir das Ding holen wird das Preisgeld durch drei geteilt.
Die Planungsphase
Nun ging es an die Planungsphase!
Wir erstellten zu dritt eine WhatsApp-Gruppe wo Kiko , Exus (Mix & Mastering) und meine Wenigkeit (Videoproduktion) drinnen waren.
In unserer Gruppe wurden diverse Songs geteilt und im Nachhinein untereinander besprochen, welchen Song wir für die Qualifikation nehmen. Nach ca. 10 Songs und gefühlten 237 weiteren Nachrichten wurde sich für den Song "Hops" entschieden. Darüber hinaus sprachen wir auch über das Video und über Kulissen und vieles mehr. Es verging eine weitere Woche, in der diversen organisatorischen Abläufe liefen und die zwei Drehtermine sowie die Orte für die Dreh's fest standen.

1 Dreh: Am Samstag, dem 29.01.2022
12 Uhr. Der Wecker klingelt, mein Blick fällt aufs Handy, drei neue Nachrichten.
Kiko:"Kontext" Wetter ist zwar scheiße, aber ich habe eine geile Idee lass mal kurz Callen"

Dann ging die übliche morgen Routine los
aufstehen, Zähne putzen, anziehen, Jacke schnappen, nochmal Equippment checken [ob ich gestern auch wirklich alles eingepackt habe], Kaffe machen, eine Rauchen und zack schon war es 13 Uhr.
Noch immer keine neue Nachricht von Kiko also nochmal an den Rechner.
Coinbase Kryptostand checken , Splinterlands Quests checken und ein bisschen YouTube schauen.
Nun war es 13:44 Brrrrt Brrrrt machte mein Handy (wie immer nur auf Vibration).
Kiko: Fahren Los
Da dachte ich mir "Hmm noch locker ne Stunde bis die hier sind".
Also habe ich nochmal in YouTube etwas geschaut und um 14:48 waren Kiko & Begleitung dann auch da.
Ich begrüßte ihn und die Begleitung, wir packten das Equipment ins Auto, stiegen ein und fuhren los.
Der Plan war 16 Uhr Bornholmer zu sein um mit dem Dreh zu starten.
Doch dann kam auf Höhe des Virchow Klinikums (Berlin) wie immer ... ein kleiner Stau

→Mein Blick aufs Navigationsgerät "Hmm, da stehen 11 Minuten xD Naja Balkan Style :P
Um 16:30 Uhr kamen wir dann auch an der Brücke Bornholmer an (Parkplatz Lidl).
Wir sind ausgestiegen und haben erstmal alle Anwesenden begrüßt, was ziemlich cool war
da diverse alte Freunde mit bei waren.
Wie gesagt Kiko ist ein Kollege den ich mittlerweile über 8 Jahre kenne
Nach ca. 10 Minuten Gequatsche und begrüßen folgten weitere 15 Minuten Wartezeit auf die letzten Personen. Dann ging es endlich auf zur Bornholmer Brücke bzw. unter die Bornholmer Brücke.
Mir war vorher schon klar, dass kein schönes Wetter sein wird, aber beim Aufbauen der Lampen unter der Brücke stellten wir schnell fest, dass die rund 90-100 km/h Windgeschwindigkeit zu viel für die Lampen waren.
-> Erste Lampe kippte um!
Also suchten wir Steine und fanden noch einen E-Scooter um die Lampen zu Verkanten, dass der Wind diese nicht ständig umriss.
Mittlerweile war es nicht nur Arschwindig, sondern es regnete auch noch recht kräftig. Wir waren zwar unter einer relativ großen Brücke, aber durch den starken Wind bekam man selbst hier einiges ab.
Nach ca. 1/2 Stunde aufbauen, drei Kippen und diversen Gesprächen haben sich alle eingefunden und in Position begeben und wir drehten das erste Take.

Im erste Take waren der Artist und zwei Darsteller unter der Bornholmer Brücke, vor einer mit Grafity versehenen Wand zusehen.
Im Anschluss habe ich dasselbe Take noch ein mal gedreht, nur von weiter weg, mit allen Leuten im Bild um nochmal eine andere Einstellung zu haben, da es sehr wichtig ist, dass man verschiedene Einstellungen dreht.
Um auf ein gewisses Gefühl für die Location zu schaffen und generell, damit man von einer Nahen (close up) z. B. in eine Totale oder ein Panorama wechselt kann am besten hat man dazwischen noch eine amerikanische Einstellung(3/4 des Körpers) somit kann man dann von nah → auf mittel sozusagen (Amerikanische).
Danach ging es an den 2. Spot, welcher glücklicherweise genau auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite war.
Sehr ernst bei der Sache :D
Ca. 2Stunden später hatten wir alle Takes im Kasten und machten uns wieder auf zum Parkplatz wo wir uns am Anfang des Dreh's mit der gesamten Mannschaft getroffen haben.
Kiko machte den Kofferraum auf und wir haben in seinem Kofferraum bei Regen Hotdogs gegrillt :D .
Er hatte dafür so ein Mobiles-Metall Warmhaltegerät bei. Dies benutzte man oft bei Catering-Services.
Das war auf jeden Fall mal eine andere Art Catering, Hotdogs im Kofferraum eines Autos zubereiten
sollte auch jeder Mensch in seinem Leben einmal gemacht haben :D.
Aber das am besten wie wir mitten auf einem Lidl Parkplatz in Berlin xD.

Im Anschluss hat mich Kiko noch nach Hause gefahren was nochmal eine gute stunde, fahrt hin und zurück für ihn waren bei mir angekommen habe ich die SSD Festplatte aus der Kamera an meinen Rechner angeschlossen
und wir haben noch einmal schnell die aufnahmen vom Tag überflogen.

The JMA and the shoot for the JMA

What is the JMA?
The JMA is a music cypher (a music video tournament with a focus on rap, but other styles of music are allowed).
In the meantime, a prize money of 5000 € has been collected in the JMA.
The whole thing is hosted by Jäääy. Jäääy is a YouTuber who has been more or less active on YouTube for several years.
Initially, his content consisted mostly of reaction videos to the JBB (Julines Blog Battle) and JMC (Julien's music Cypher). In general, it was all about the Juliensblog channel.
Over time, however, he has developed further and released a wide variety of formats. This year he decided he wanted to do another big music video contest and announced the JMA. The prize money was initially €4,000, but was increased by €1,000 in an additional donation stream. The additional donation came from his community.
The JMA announcement video achieved a much larger reach than expected, even YouTubers like CakeTv made a video about it.
The suggestion
I found out about the tournament quite early on myself, so I spoke to a friend who is a musician himself and suggested that we could do it. I shared the info video with him on Whatsapp and suggested that I would like to produce his video for free. I also hired someone who would take care of the mix and mastering of his songs.
Then I organized everything and the three of us agreed that if we get the thing, the prize money will be divided by three.
The planning phase
Now it's time for the planning phase!
The three of us created a WhatsApp group where Kiko, Exus (mix & mastering) and myself (video production) were in it.
Various songs were shared in our group and afterwards we discussed which song we should use for the qualification. After about 10 songs and what felt like 237 more messages, the decision was made to go with the song "Hops". In addition, we also talked about the video and about scenery and much more. Another week went by during which various organizational processes ran and the two shooting dates and locations for the shoots were set.

1 Shooting: On Saturday, January 29th, 2022
12 o'clock. The alarm clock rings, my eyes fall on my cell phone, three new messages.
Kiko: "Context" Weather sucks, but I have a great idea, let's call for a moment"

Then the usual morning routine started
get up, brush my teeth, get dressed, grab my jacket, check my equipment again [whether I really packed everything yesterday], make coffee, have a smoke and, bang, it was 1 p.m.
Still no new message from Kiko so again to the computer.
Check Coinbase crypto status, check Splinterlands Quests and watch a bit of YouTube.
Now it was 13:44 Brrrrt Brrrrt my cell phone beeped (as always only on vibrate).
Kiko: Drive off
Then I thought to myself, "Hmm, it'll be an hour before they get here".
So I looked again on YouTube and at 2:48 p.m. Kiko and his companions were there too.
I greeted him and the company, we packed the equipment in the car, got in and drove off.
The plan was to be Bornholmer at 4pm to start shooting.
But then, as always, there was a small traffic jam at Virchow Klinikum (Berlin).
4:12 p.m., Kiko's cell phone rings

Kiko: we're almost there, Navi says 7 minutes
→My view of the navigation device "Hmm, there are 11 minutes xD Well, Balkan style :P
At 4:30 p.m. we arrived at the Bornholmer bridge (Lidl car park).
We got out and first greeted everyone present, which was pretty cool
because various old friends were with us.
As I said, Kiko is a colleague I have known for over 8 years
After about 10 minutes of chatting and greetings, another 15 minutes of waiting followed for the last person. Then it finally went to the Bornholm Bridge or under the Bornholm Bridge.
I knew beforehand that the weather wasn't going to be nice, but when we set up the lights under the bridge, we quickly realized that the 90-100 km/h wind speed was too much for the lights.
First lamp fell over!
So we looked for stones and found an e-scooter to tilt the lamps so that the wind didn't constantly outline them.
In the meantime it was not only dizzy, but it was also raining quite heavily. We were under a relatively large bridge, but the strong wind took a toll even here.
After about 1/2 hour of setting up, three cigarette butts and various conversations, everyone got together and got into position and we shot the first take.

In the first take, the artist and two actors were under the Bornholm Bridge, in front of a graffiti covered wall.
Then I shot the same take again, only from further away, with all the people in the picture, to have a different shot again, because it's very important to shoot different shots.
In order to create a certain feeling for the location and in general, so that one can see from a nearby (close up) e.g. B. can switch to a long shot or a panorama. It is best to have an American shot in between (3/4 of the body) so you can then go from close → to medium, so to speak (American).
Then we went to the 2nd spot, which fortunately was exactly on the opposite side.
About 2 hours later we had all the takes in the can and headed back to the parking lot where we met the entire crew at the beginning of the shoot.
Very serious about this :D
Kiko opened the trunk and we grilled hot dogs in his trunk when it was raining :D .
He had a mobile metal warming device with him for this purpose. This was often used in catering services.
That was definitely a different kind of catering, preparing hot dogs in the trunk of a car
everyone should have done it once in their life :D.
But best of all like us in the middle of a Lidl parking lot in Berlin xD.

Afterwards, Kiko drove me home, which took another good hour, the trip there and back for him arrived at my place, I connected the SSD hard drive from the camera to my computer
and we quickly skimmed through the day's recordings again.
