🌹✨Hoy no es un día cualquiera… Es el aniversario de una de las bandas que más han marcado mi corazón y abrió para mí un nuevo mundo en la música: Versailles. Un grupo japonés que no solo destaca por su poderosa música y su estética barroca cargada de drama, desamor y oscuridad, sino porque me acompañado en todas las etapas de mi vida.
🌹✨Today isn't just any day... It's the anniversary of one of the bands that most shaped my heart and opened up a whole new world of music for me: Versailles. A Japanese group that stands out not only for its powerful music and baroque aesthetic filled with drama, heartbreak, and darkness, but also because it has accompanied me through every stage of my life.
En esta entrada quiero hablarte un poco sobre su historia, su temática, mis canciones favoritas, su vocalista y un recuerdo muy personal que guardo con cariño: el día en que tocaron en mi país. Aunque no pude estar físicamente en el concierto, estuve muy atenta a todo, y gracias a una revista que dedicó una sección a su visita, conservo un pequeño tesoro que aún hoy me emociona
In this post, I want to tell you a little about their history, their themes, my favorite songs, their vocalist, and a very personal memory I hold dear: the day they played in my country. Although I couldn't be there in person, I was very attentive to everything, and thanks to a magazine that dedicated a section to their visit, I have a small treasure that still moves me today.

Versailles es un grupo de visual kei japones cuyo genero musicales son el power metal, metal sinfónico y metal neoclásico.( Les digo cada miembro de la banda en la imagen de arriba de izquierda a derecha) Teru (guitarrista y voz adicional)🎸, Masashi (bajista)🎸, Kamijo (vocalista)🎤, Yuki (baterista)🥁, Hizaki (guitarrista y voz adicional)🎸. Para quienes no lo saben el visual kei es un tipo de moda en donde se caracteriza una estética andrógina, peinados, maquillaje y ropa extravagante, es un estilo que tiene muchas variantes y no se ve de la misma forma, en el caso de Versailles su estética visual kei es combinado con la estética victoriana.
Yo conocí a versailles cuando tenía unos 10 años, estaba navegando en youtube y me acuerdo que me apareció su canción “Vampire”, su estética llamo mucho mi atención pues me recordaba a personajes de juegos que en ese momento me gustaban como castlevania o Raphael de Soul Calibur, así que le di clik y me encanto su música, con ellos conocí el visual kei y los empecé a escuchar, a investigar sobre ellos además de empezar a escuchar otros grupos del género.
Versailles is a Japanese visual kei group whose musical genres are power metal, symphonic metal, and neoclassical metal. (I'm listing each band member in the picture above from left to right): Teru (guitarist and additional vocals)🎸, Masashi (bassist)🎸, Kamijo (vocalist)🎤, Yuki (drummer)🥁, Hizaki (guitarist and additional vocals)🎸. For those who don't know, visual kei is a type of fashion characterized by an androgynous aesthetic, with extravagant hairstyles, makeup, and clothing. It's a style that has many variations and no one looks the same. In Versailles' case, their visual kei aesthetic is combined with Victorian aesthetics.
I met Versailles when I was about 10 years old. I was browsing YouTube and I remember that their song “Vampire” came across. Its aesthetic really caught my attention because it reminded me of characters from games that I liked at the time, like Castlevania or Raphael from Soul Calibur. So I clicked on it and fell in love with their music. With them, I discovered visual kei and started listening to them, researching them, and also starting to listen to other groups in the genre.
Muchos grupos de visual kei crean una historia a su alrededor, dándonos personajes y teatralidad lo que lo hace maravilloso, en el caso de versailles manejaban mucho los personajes como si fueran vampiros, la estética junto a su música crean un atractivo visual muy marcado y atractivo.
Many visual kei groups create a story around them, giving us characters and theatricality, which makes it wonderful. In the case of Versailles, they handled the characters a lot as if they were vampires. The aesthetics, along with their music, create a very marked and attractive visual appeal.
La música me parece excepcional, de todos los grupos que eh llegado a escuchar no sé por qué, pero me parece que versailles tenía un talento en cuanto a instrumentos como nadie; musicalmente me parece lo más talentoso que eh escuchado en el visual kei.
Las letras de sus canciones giran en torno al romance, desamor, vidas eh historias pasadas, haciendo que sus historias sean nostálgicas y llenas de drama. Como si la temática vampírica creará una historia sobre un vampiro, con larga vida quien en el transcurso de su eterna vida conoció y perdió muchas cosas, personas, amores.
I find the music exceptional. Of all the bands I've ever listened to, I don't know why, but it seems to me that Versailles had a talent for instruments like no one else; musically, they seem to me to be the most talented I've heard in visual kei.
Their lyrics revolve around romance, heartbreak, past lives, and stories, making their stories nostalgic and full of drama. It's as if the vampire theme created a story about a long-lived vampire who, over the course of his eternal life, met and lost many things, people, and loves.
Y es que una de las razones por las que me gusta tanto versailles es porque tiene las letras románticas más hermosas que eh escuchado, el romance es un género que no suelo escuchar y no porque no me guste sino porque me parece tan complicado de proyectar que no cualquier música de ese estilo llega a gustarme.
Ahora les hablare de su vocalista, Kamijo, que además de interpretarlas su talento para escribir canciones románticas es hermoso y muy destacable.
And one of the reasons I like Versailles so much is because it has the most beautiful romantic lyrics I've ever heard. Romance is a genre I don't usually listen to, not because I don't like it, but because I find it so difficult to project that not just any music in that style will appeal to me.
Now I'll tell you about its vocalist, Kamijo, who, in addition to performing them, has a beautiful and remarkable talent for writing romantic songs.
Kamijo se ha convertido desde entonces es mi artista favorito, por su voz, por su talento para escribir además de que fue el que más captó mi atención cuando vi al grupo porque algo personal es que mi flor favorita es la rosa y la insignia de kamijo son las rosas rojas, a él lo identifican con eso, fue como una señal jajaja. Incluso en sus conciertos su lightstick es una rosa roja que brilla.
Kamijo has since become my favorite artist, for his voice, for his talent for writing, and because he was the one who most caught my attention when I saw the group because something personal is that my favorite flower is the rose and Kamijo's insignia is the red rose, he is identified with that, it was like a sign hahaha. Even in his concerts his lightstick is a red rose that shines.
En 2011 para mí sorpresa versailles vino a mi país, a Venezuela, en efecto era otro tiempo 🙃💦. Pero para ese entonces yo solo tenía 12 años, no era adulta como ahora así que dependía de mi mamá si quería algo, le rogué mucho para que me llevara, pero ella no podía así que me tocó quedarme con las ganas 😆jajaja.
Nunca fui alguien malcriada así que solo me quedé tranquila luego de rogar 😆 pero en ese entonces aquí se hacía una revista llamada bravísimo en donde tenían una sección donde ponían a artistas asiáticos y pusieron unas páginas hablando sobre versailles aquí en Venezuela; yo todavía tengo la revista ❤️ en ese tiempo no solo vino versailles sino también un guitarrista japonés llamado miyavi.
In 2011, to my surprise, Versailles came to my country, Venezuela. It was indeed a different time 🙃💦. But back then, I was only 12 years old, not like I am now, so I relied on my mom if I wanted anything. I begged her a lot to take me, but she couldn't, so I was left wanting 😆hahaha.

Una de mis canciones favoritas de Versailles es esta joya que me parece increíblemente delicada, hermosa, emocional.
En la letra se percibe a una protagonista la cual se compara con una princesa, una flor que intenta mantenerse firme, pero cuya fragilidad, tristezas y cansancio se nota detrás de esa fachada, más que notarse la voz que canta es quien puede ver atreves de ella. El cantante, esa voz que canta para ella no busca más que abrazarla por completo, con sus lágrimas, su dolor y su humanidad, decirle lo fuerte que es por llevar todo el peso sola y que en sus brazos puede permitirse ser vulnerable porque el la sostendrá.

One of my favorite Versailles songs is this gem that I find incredibly delicate, beautiful, and emotional.
The lyrics portray a protagonist who compares herself to a princess, a flower trying to stand firm, but whose fragility, sadness, and tiredness are evident behind that facade. More than just the singing voice, it's the one who can see through it. The singer, that voice that sings for her, seeks nothing more than to embrace her completely, with her tears, her pain, and her humanity, to tell her how strong she is for carrying all the weight alone and that in his arms she can allow herself to be vulnerable because he will hold her.

Adoro esta canción porque además tiene un poco de relación con mi película favorita, Laberinto de Jim Henson. La canción junto al video nos muestra la historia de una mujer que tiene un secreto, en su casa pasando por una puerta mágica entra a un mundo en donde el pasar del tiempo es diferente, al entrar el tiempo afuera se detiene mientras adentro transcurre en un salón bajo un baile de mascaras eterno, encucando la música y bailando con el encantador hechicero de esa fiesta de máscaras que en este caso seria el cantante junto a su banda.
La letra relata sobre la fantasía y la incredulidad de descubrir que existe algo así, pero en la historia se nos muestra a una anciana que al entrar al mundo vuelve a ser joven, el cantante habla sobre como pude ver sus deseos y anhelos y que el estará allí para ella dando a entender que el sabe que esa será la ultima vez que se vean porque cuando ella salga de allí volverá a ser una anciana y fallecerá, dándole así su último baile de máscaras.

I love this song because it also has a bit of a connection to my favorite movie, Jim Henson's Labyrinth. The song, along with its video, tells the story of a woman with a secret. In her house, passing through a magic door, she enters a world where time passes differently. Upon entering, time stops outside while inside, time passes in a hall under an eternal masquerade ball, listening to the music and dancing with the charming wizard of that masquerade party, who in this case is the singer and his band.
The lyrics tell of fantasy and the disbelief of discovering such a thing exists, but the story depicts an old woman who, upon entering the world, becomes young again. The singer talks about how he can see her desires and wishes and that he will be there for her, implying that he knows this will be the last time they see each other because when she leaves there, she will be an old woman again and die, thus giving her her last masquerade ball.

Vampire me encanta porque de por si los vampiros en general, este ser de fantasía me gusta mucho y esta canción habla de ese momento en el que un vampiro elige a su víctima, la desea, beber su sangre y tomar su esencia hasta que se convierte el algo inerte y su belleza se desvanece junto a su vida cantado de una forma romantizada, pero bajo un significado letal.
Es una canción muy buena y la melodía es muy buena, pero la razón por la que está entre mis favoritas es porque es la canción con la que los conocí así que es especial para mí.

I love Vampire because I really like vampires in general, this fantasy being, and this song talks about that moment when a vampire chooses his victim, desires her, drinks her blood, and takes her essence until she becomes inert and her beauty fades along with her life, sung in a romanticized way, but with a lethal meaning.
It's a very good song and the melody is very good, but the reason it's among my favorites is because it's the song with which I first met them, so it's special to me.
Versailles no solo es una banda que escucho; es una parte de lo que soy. Su música ha sido mi refugio en momentos sensibles y mi inspiración en los creativos.
