I got challenged by @slobberchops in The writing music challenge . It was a long time ago since I participated or even read about a challenge. Just like @slobberchops mentioned in his post, in Steem time (sorry for cursing) there were (at least I think) a lot more challenges to challenge people to write a post in the subject of the challenge. For me there were a lot of music challenge I participated in and I organized some challenges myself like the “30 days music challenge” or the “alphabet challenge” , with the 30 days music challenge I challenged the music community to post for thirty days every day a song with a story. With the alphabet challenge I challenged people to write down a song for each letter in the alphabet. It gave some surprising results.
The challenge of @slobberchops had the following rules
Tell me about an album you love and tell me about the standout album track on it.
Don’t tell me about any singles on your album. I want to hear about that hidden gem that is tucked away and not played on the radio.
Give me a story about the album, how you learned about it, and most importantly highlight that special album track
Challenge THREE more people to do the same. It’s good to write, especially about music. It’s a passion.
Make sure you add these rules to your post and feel free to use the format I use below.
Post your Music Challenge article in the MUSIC Community
If you want to write a post and have not been challenged, then do so.
Prefix your post 'Writing Music Challenge' so it's easy to spot.
The difficulty is that I have numerous of albums which I love, so which one do I choose……mm..let me think….
Ozzy Osbourne - Tribute to Randy Rhoads
As you probably know I am a big fan of Ozzy Osbourne. He is one of my idols, his music , his appearance. Randy Rhoads was the guitarist of Ozzy when he went solo, after black sabbath. Randy was a gift from heaven for Ozzy because he was such a great guitarist and musician. The became very good friends in a very short time. Unfortunately Randy died way to early in a plain crash, it was a big loss for music but for Ozzy private too..
Ozzy released the album “Tribute to Randy Rhoads” To pay his respect and admiration for Randy. I still remember getting the album on cassette tape from a friend of my when I was young. The cassette was a TDK – SA – 90 Chrome , I will never forget it. On the album there was a great solo in the song Suicide solution, the A side of the cassette abrupt stopped in the middle of his solo, and continued on the other side 😊 I still know the exact place within the solo…
In Zutphen, where I lived, there was this band “Metal Remorse” with on guitar Gordon Groothedde, who is now a well known producer. They played a lot of Ozzy music including some songs of the Tribute album. It was just awesome to see them rehearse..
The also played "Suicide Solution" awesome song with a big load for me.... It's on
I would like to challenge:
Looking forward to you entries :)
Have a great day,
Peter
