I first ran into Passenger 10 about 11 years ago while perusing Beatport. As a DJ, I would spend numerous hours on that site, sifting through everything to find the gold. Well, bookmark this one, because Passenger 10 is definitely a gold strike for those who love uplifting instrumental music that - despite its album title - envokes feelings of hope and optimism.
The music is certainly electronic in nature, but riddled with samples and traditional instrumental elements which give it a heavy organic overtone that's incredibly pleasant. I give it a solid 4.5 out of 5.
Below are a few of my favorite tracks from the album. Enjoy, and feel free to comment with your input!
This last song is an apparent ode to U2. You'll likely recognize the sample of the guitar riff from their song "Where The Streets Have No Names".
