The trick is to be grateful when your mood is high and graceful when it is low.
Nature is one of the finest gifts in the whole universe as it has to do with me and you. Where nature can sometimes make our mood sour with humans or life in general, there's a bigger part of nature that never ceases to bless me when my mood isn't great.
As humans, we don't have a fixed mood. One moment, we are happy, and the next moment, we feel the need to chop someone's head off(literally in this case of cos). As a lady, I have unexplainable moods. A friend of mine once commented that my mood changes in nanoseconds. Lol. He finds it weird, but I found it.. Me.
Especially weeks before the time of the month kicks in, when it comes, and a week after it comes. It makes me sometimes act like a pregnant woman. I just want to cry for reasons unbeknownst to mankind and eat things at unbelievable hours! I crave them, and when I don't get them, it makes my mood sour. It's like the world is against me, and I don't even have the strength to fight.
However, looking at the aforementioned quote, I can feel lots of simplicity in it. In the ancient world, a lady is taught to be graceful when she's in a foul mood. You know the term that states that one should be lady-like. Yeah.
... and I have found myself simple ways to balance and stabilize my mood.
The first thing on my list is one of nature's finest gifts, which is you and I. Have you seen yourself today? If you have, you'd notice how beautiful you are. When I see people who are beautiful, not just by face but inside, I find myself in a high mood with them and their attitude towards others. It is a fine simple way to elevate any sort of sourness in my mood, and it has always worked.
Also, the presence of nature itself. The trees, air, and the sight it gives are alone to keep my mood sweet like honey. Just looking out my window is enough to make me smile as the presence of the sky alone or the penetration of the sun into the room is fit to make my heart warm.
There's always this melodic feeling to nature with the swift movement of the air and the chirps of birds around. Listening to them helps stabilize my mood.
Moving on to the next thing on the agenda, we have the presence of music itself. The one made by men to lighten up our mood and I do have an item that makes music more interesting to listen to.
Yes, my earbuds. Ever since it has come into my life, I have found myself happier. When I am in a place where I have to listen to music when there are people around, the presence of the buds makes it possible. I am not a huge fan of playing songs out loud. Therefore, with the earbuds, I can listen to music calmly without disturbing others.
Being from a country where there are so many wrongs to the citizens, music keeps me sane whenever I go out. Having the earbuds on means no one can come to meet me and say things that may flare up my mood. Lol. It gets crazy out here if you can't control your mood. You'd end up insulting everyone, which is too bad for one's health.
People will annoy you. From the very moment you leave your gate to the outside world. The bus you enter, the people you'd meet where you are going to, it gets too much sometimes. This is why listening to music as I go out or come back is something I never miss. It's a simple activity that gets my mood balanced.
Speaking about going out, what's the essence of being a human without food? Food is one thing that helps keep me sane, especially chicken.
There's no way I'd stay a week without chicken touching my lips. We are almost betrothed to another. The aroma it brings when cooking is enough to get my mood high. It just makes me happy. Like, I'll be giggling for no reason, part of which reminds me of some childhood moment to adulthood. We own a personal poultry at home where we rear chicken and eat them when we feel the need to.
It always gives a nice warm feeling whenever my Dad says we should kill a chicken or when Mom feels like eating it. And I grew up with that.
This is why life with food is music to my ears. It calms me and makes me feel fulfilled. The right amount of balance and stability to living a good life.
