I'm not the most disciplined person in my family neither am I the most active in getting things done before time but if there's one lesson I've kept on learning of it's important in my life whenever I abide to it is... Getting rid of procrastination as much as possible.
In so many areas of my life, I've both consciously and unconsciously applied procrastination making those times of my life unproductive and sometimes useless as I do feel regret towards those days when I think back to them especially after getting what needs to be done, done.

I had this nonchalant lifestyle about four years ago, I would do things whenever I wanted and believe me when I say those years when I was living as such, I achieved almost nothing to share about today. I can only remember getting a low grade on an important exam I should have scored high for bigger opportunities... I procrastinated studying like it didn't matter!!!
I got to use the grade for something good but there's always something better when you start early on something you set your mind to do and that is what I'm pushing for you to have in mind as I've experienced and not liked the outcome of starting whenever you feel like it. It's best to be aware that you're not your own alone, people are watching and your goals are waiting... Starting whenever or late will do you almost no good.
I hated being disciplined, I wanted to keep living like I didn't had to do anything even if there are things to be done. It made me lazy and I learnt my lesson the hard way last four years when I sat for an important exams after days of continuous procrastination to study. That situation almost killed my zeal to do anything in life again but it fuelled my discipline spirit after mum gave a brief talk about it to me.
You don't have to start with speed, just make sure to start as soon as you can
My mum's words but rephrased (she used slang words when she said it)
I applied those words to so many areas in my life and I can't share enough how much my life has become better with this discipline. I still start late on some things but not as much as I did back then and the difference is obvious in my achievements and little celebrations I've had. It's also evident in how well I'm building towards financial freedom.
No doubt, the main essence of discipline is to prepare and be able to withstand some unforeseen circumstances. We never know what's in front waiting for us but with discipline, I've learned that those front waiters have got no powers that can't be contended with.
What's important is one's approach to life's hurdles, staying disciplined to start as soon as you can is a huge difference one can use to make one's life better and different from others. Staying disciplined isn't easy and most importantly it shouldn't make your fun side of life go into hiding.
Be disciplined about procrastination, stay happy and keep living life one step at a time
