Compliments of the season.
When I saw this post, it actually brought back memories of my fan I had to let go because I was moving out of my apartment to a better place that has better facilities.
Under the hot weather of Abia state, I lived alone peacefully trying to make the best out of school. Though were I lived was not up to what I wanted, it was manageable.
The heat in school was much and sometimes, I had to sleep with my windows widely open. At times, leave my bed to sleep on the cold floor.
This continued for some weeks, so I decided to save up money and get my self a new fan.
After saving up, I got the fan and I as really happy. The day I got the fan marked the end of my suffering and sleeping on the floor.
Weeks later, I saw a better equiped house for rent that has an air conditioner in it. I could really use such facilities,I said to my self. being someone who loves economizing, I talked my self out of it but a part of me still insisted i rent the place for a better living so I could totally run away from the heat.
After thinking of it for some time, I decided to rent the apartment because I have nothing to loose.
When I was packing out of my old house to the new one, I saw my fan that saved me from the heat and decided to carry it along. When I made this decision, a debate started in my mind.
I asked myself, what do you need a fan for? You have a working air conditioner that you can regulate to your taste.why not give it out to your neighbor who is passing through the heat you passed through? When I was thinking of these questions, I got replies when I reminded myself how i intentionally starved myself just to get the fan and be comfortable.
Buying the fan was not a comfortable process as I had to stay hungry and save up, but I got it anyways. After thinking of it carefully, I decided to let go of the fan because I don't want my neighbor to keep on bearing the heat anymore.
He was overjoyed when I gave him the fan and was really thankful.
It felt real good to see the joy written all over him and I was happy because I gave it to him. I am not expecting anything in return, I just want that joy to remain in him because the joy I saw that day was really amazing.
