Week 39, 2022: Letters / Letras
I have several letters like this left over from a job I did that involved laser cut acrylic. It was very good for me to save them for a challenge like this.
Tengo varias letras como esta que sobraron de un trabajo que hice que implicaba acrílico cortado con láser. Me vino muy bien guardarlas para un reto como este.
Week 40, 2022: Rule of odds / Regla de los impares
There is a lot of life at sunset on the Havana boardwalk. I found this couple enjoying some ice cream while they looked in the direction of the interested man on his cell phone. How many stories can be invented from there!
Hay mucha vida al atardecer en el malecón habanero. Me encontré a esta pareja disfrutando de unos helados mientras miraban en dirección del hombre interesado en su celular. Cuántas historias se pueden inventar a partir de ahí!
Week 41, 2022: Shoot through something / Dispara a través de algo
We attended a fair for bonsai and succulent growers in the garden of Quinta de los Molinos. I took advantage of the plants that surrounded us and used my daughter as a model to take several photos through some branches. When we returned we sat down to watch The Lord of the Rings and that inspired me to color the leaves blue.
Asistimos a una feria de cultivadores de bonsais y suculentas en el jardín de la Quinta de los Molinos. Aproveché las plantas que nos rodeaban a nosotros y puse a mi hija como modelo para tomar varias fotos a través de unas ramas. Cuando regresamos nos sentamos a ver El Señor de los Anillos y eso me inspiró a colorear las hojas de azul.
Week 42, 2022: Black and white minimalism / Minimalismo en blanco y negro
I took a medium-sized fork, pressed it against a sheet of office paper, and then placed the sheet with the print in the sun at an angle to get some shadow and volume.
Tomé un tenedor de tamaño mediano, lo presioné contra una hoja de papel de oficina y luego coloqué la hoja con la impresión al sol en ángulo para lograr algo de sombra y volumen.
Week 43, 2022: Details / Detalles
My wife has several types of Adenium, the desert rose. There is a community in Cuba that is quite passionate about creating grafts and crosses between these plants and thus achieving varieties in petals, colors and shapes. This specimen you see is the most common, and therefore, the purest. I placed it in my light box and tried various backgrounds but I stayed with red so that the contrast is with the white. Then, in Adobe Camera Raw, I darkened everything around the drop using the radial gradient.
Mi esposa tiene varios tipos de Adenium, la rosa del desierto. Existe en Cuba una comunidad bastante apasionada por crear injertos y cruces entre estas plantas y así lograr variedades en pétalos, colores y formas. Este ejemplar que ves es el más común, y por tanto, el más puro. Lo coloqué en mi cajita de luz y probé con varios fondos pero me quedé con el rojo para que el contraste sea con el blanco. Luego, en Adobe Camera Raw, oscurecí todo alrededor de la gota usando el degradado radial.
Some photos correspond better than others to each challenge posed...I will embrace imperfection!
Algunas fotos corresponden mejor que otras a cada reto planteado...abrazaré la imperfección!
