I used one of the absolutely rare sunny days in December 2024 to pay a visit to the landmark of the Spessart. Ok, actually the woodpecker is the landmark of the Spessart. But no building stands for the Spessart as much as the water castle in Mespelbrunn.

Einen der absolut raren Sonnentage im Dezember 2024 habe ich genutzt, um mal dem Wahrzeichen des Spessarts einen Besuch abzustatten. Ok, eigentlich ist der Specht das Wahrzeichen des Spessart. Aber kein Bauwerk steht so sehr für den Spessart wie das Wasserschloß von Mespelbrunn.

It takes me about half an hour to get to the castle by car. But I've never actually been there before. At least not in this incarnation ;-) But since the castle has been standing intact in the Spessart since the 15th century....

Mit dem Auto brauche ich ungefähr eine halbe Stunde zum Wasserschloß. Tatsächlich war ich bislang aber noch nie dort. Zumindest nicht in dieser Inkarnation. ;-) Aber da das Schloß schon seit dem 15. Jahrhundert unversehrt im Spessart steht....

Unfortunately, the water castle is not open in winter, so I had to stay outside the gates. However, this of course gives me one more reason to pay the building another and more extensive visit in spring. The castle at Mespelbrunn is also easy for me to reach by bike. You can easily cycle the direct route through the Spessart. It should be a great tour, especially with an e-MTB.

Leider hat das Wasserschloß im Winter nicht geöffnet, so daß ich leider vor den Toren bleiben mußte. Allerdings habe ich so natürlich einen Grund mehr, dem Bauwerk im Frühling nochmal einen weiteren und ausgiebigeren Besuch abzustatten. Auch mit dem Fahrrad ist das Wasserschloß von Mespelbrunn für mich gut erreichbar. Man kann durch den Spessart sehr gut die direkte Route fahren. Besonders mit dem e-MTB sollte das eine tolle Tour sein.

Mespelbrunn Castle is known to the somewhat older German-speaking population from the well-known film classic from the 1950s entitled "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart = The inn in the Spessart" with Liselotte Pulver in the leading female role. However, I know Lilo (Pulver) more from the German edition of Sesame Street from the late 70s . ;-)

Bekannt ist das Schloß Mespelbrunn der etwas älteren deutschsprachigen Bevölkerung aus dem sehr bekannten Filmklassiker aus den 50er Jahren "Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" mit Liselotte Pulver in der weiblichen Hauptrolle. Die Lilo (Pulver) kenne ich allerdings eher aus der deutschen Ausgabe der Sesamstrasse aus den späten 70er Jahren. ;-)

As I was unable to inspect the castle up close, as I mentioned earlier, I went for a walk in Mespelbrunn. There was more to see there. This will be continued in another post. As announced, new music from me is coming soon. The single will be released in less than a week.

Da ich - wie bereits erwähnt - das Schloß nicht aus der Nähe inspizieren konnte, habe ich noch einen Spaziergang in Mespelbrunn gemacht. Da gab es noch mehr zu sehen. Fortzsetzung folgt also in einem weiteren Beitrag. Wie angekündigt, kommt auch bald neue Mucke von mir. In weniger als einer Woche ist die VÖ der Single.
