This morning I walk outside the house I see a beautiful flower Flower beauti attract me.It really beautiful plant,so i tell u this plant.It plant name is datura plant.datura is a genus of nine species of highly poisonous vepertine flowering plants belonging to the nightshade family.The greatest diversity of species occurs in centetal America and Mexico,suggestin this as the origin of the genus but there is ampple evidence that these plants were used culturally both in the New world and in Asia as sacred plants for many millennia.
The common name of datura is thron apple stinkweed,angel,trumpet and Jamestown weed.It is a vegetables derliriant type of celebral posion.In Mexico its common name is toloache and also called spelled tolguacha.
Physical description
Datura species are herbaceous us sprawling annuals or short lived perennials,characterized by larg trumpet shaped flower.The leaves are simple and alternately arranged with lobed,wavy,or entire margins.The fragrants flowers can be white,yellow,pink are purple and produce a spiny capsule fruit with numerous seed. The plant contain protent alkaloids, including atropine scopolamine,and hyocyamine,and can be fatal if ingested.
Dadura uses
Datura has been traditionally used in both folklore medications and alternative therapies.
Datura is often used to relieve asthmatic symptoms and reduce the pain during the surgery and bone setting procedures.Though a strong narcotic plant ,datura offers umpteen healthy benefits and is extensively used for alleviating pain treating fever , enhancing heart ,function,inducing sleep,improving fertility promoting hair and skin health and easing childbirth.
In the india subcontinent it is chiefly known as Dhuttura kanaka or kanakahvya in sanskrit,sada dhatura in hindi,ummetta in Telugu ummattangani inTamil and Dhattura in Bngali.
Life cycle
Algeria:Datura stramonium germinates in spring summer.Flowering takes place from june to octuber.
France(camargue): short flowering (1-2 days) between july and octuber.Datura stramonium is an annual plant that is propagated by seeds.The flowering period and fruit starts from January to June.
stem:Erect and brancheing up to 5- foot tall stems are hollow ,generally smooth and green to purple .Damaged stems emit a foul door.
Flowers and fruit:Flower petals are large,white to purple in colour and fused into a 2 to 5 inch long tube.Fruit are very spiny ,egg shaped capsules with four valves.Each valve contain enumerous flat ,dark brown to black round to kidney shaped seeds.
Leaves:Cotyledons are long and narrow white a prominent oval to egg shaped 3 to 8 inches longs smooth petioles.Damaged leaves will emit a foul oder . First leaves have large coarsely and unevenly toothed margins.All plant parts are toxic to animals.
