YEP, I'M ATTEMPTING TO FILM A DOCUMENTARY.
A few weeks ago I shared that I was looking for a trail runner to create a short film for fun, and really to get out and use my camera that has been sitting on my shelf collecting dust since early November. In talking with one runner I found out she is training for a 50 and 100 mile race this year, so in an effort to push myself to do something I've only thought about in passing, create a documentary. I'll follow the training and progress of the runner as she trains in the bitter cold, windy, winter months in Wyoming.
I'm pretty excited about it, to say the least, except the very cold conditions we had on the first day. The runner did tell me that the weather was actually quite nice because there was almost no wind that morning, and once the sun came out and she got running she warmed up nicely.
I, however, had 4 layers of clothing on while filming. Granted, I was following in my car as well as filming from my car (very hard to film and drive by yourself, by the way, I don't recommend it).
Here's a few photos that I just had to take during some pre-dawn b-roll that I was shooting before the running started.

And here's a screen shot of a video clip of the runner, and her friend.
I hope to have the documentary done by the end of the year and will try my best to share some photos of the journey along the way. I'll be spending a lot of time in the mountains for this, which I'm quite excited about.
