Recently, I was lucky enough to come across a squirrel searching for food in the grass. In city parks, squirrels are quite confident and bold. They will approach people to get a treat in the form of nuts. I regularly carry a handy packet of hazelnuts or cashews in my pocket to feed these little red friends.
Squirrels play a significant role in ecosystems such as parks and forests. They spread seeds thanks to their habit of storing food. More squirrels means faster regeneration of vegetation.
Unfortunately, although they frequently come so close and are so accustomed to human presence, it is better not to pet them, which is theoretically possible. They can spread dangerous rabies. It is best to avoid direct physical contact with them, but seeing them has a remarkable effect on your mood, and the photos I took are definitely among my best shots.
And how do you feel about my pictures?
