Desempolvando fotos: Primera sesión con Colibri

A few days ago I started to organize the mess of files I have in Google Drive, and going through folders I came across a series of photos I took a few years ago for the band Colibri, there I found several photos that I liked a lot and today I want to share them with you.

Hace unos días me puse a organizar el desastre de archivos que tengo en Google Drive, y revisando entre carpetas me topé con una serie de fotos que hice hace unos años para la banda Colibri, allí encontré varias fotos que me gustaron bastante y hoy quiero compartirlas con ustedes.

Locación

La sesión la hicimos en el Club Ítalo de Puerto Ordaz, este club cuenta con espacios variados, hay piscinas, canchas, campo de golf, un área con vista al rio y muchísimas áreas verdes, por lo que nos pareció un buen lugar para hacer fotos. Para la primera sesión se eligió hacer el shooting en un área verde que tenía muchos árboles.

We did the session at the Club Italo in Puerto Ordaz, this club has varied spaces, there are swimming pools, courts, golf course, an area overlooking the river and lots of green areas, so we thought it was a good place to take pictures. For the first session we chose to do the shooting in a green area with lots of trees.

Vestimenta

Se determinó que para la vestimenta algunos debían de llevar ropa azul mientras que en otros debían predominar tonos claros como el blanco, ya que el entorno poseía una gran cantidad de marrones debido a los troncos de los árboles y al tener ropa clara se podría lograr un mejor contraste entre el sujeto y el fondo.

It was determined that for the clothing some should wear blue clothes while others should wear light tones such as white, since the environment had a large amount of browns due to the tree trunks and by having light clothes a better contrast between the subject and the background could be achieved.

Experience

Experiencia

Ese día la pasé muy bien, comimos rico, nos reímos bastante y terminamos logrando fotos bonitas. Los miembros de Colibri y yo nos conocemos desde hace años, así que trabajar con ellos fue una experiencia cómoda y divertida.

Lo realmente complicado fue hacer dos sesiones con luz natural durante el mismo día. La versatilidad del lugar nos permitía cambiar de escenarios fácilmente, pero al depender de la luz natural todo debía estar a tiempo, prácticamente cronometrado, para que las mejores horas de luz no se nos escaparan ese día. Físicamente fue un poco demandante pero lo logramos.

I had a great time that day, we ate well, laughed a lot and ended up getting nice pictures. The members of Colibri and I have known each other for years, so working with them was a comfortable and fun experience.

What was really tricky was doing two sessions with natural light on the same day. The versatility of the location allowed us to change scenarios easily, but relying on natural light meant that everything had to be on time, practically timed, so that the best hours of light didn't escape us that day. Physically it was a bit demanding but we did it.
