It was only a few weeks ago that I made my first car spotting post.
If you are unfamiliar with what car spotting is, please let me explain:
Observing or photographing interesting, vintage, rare, modified, sports cars and exotic supercars on public roads, streets, garages, meets... Car spotters can be found worldwide. Source
I figured if I was going to be out on the road all the time, I might as well capture some photographs of my favorite cars around town. It's not always easy to snap a quick pic of a nice ride when I see one. I occasionally can manage to do it in traffic. Sometimes it's while sitting in my parked car. Then of course there is the best way which is me walking around either a parking lot or garage.
I live downtown and am all over the city for work. This means that I have a higher chance than most people do when it comes to my odds of seeing special cars. Plus, I'm obsessed with them anyways so it's almost like I manifest them into my reality.
The more I do this, the more I will probably start seeing the same cars. The thing is though, there will never stop being new cars. People will continue to purchase new ones and I will be here to photograph them every chance that I get.
This week features many awesome cars and even an SUV, which isn't usually my thing. I think my favorite time is the grey Porsche 911 992. That thing was looking so damn good and I almost didn't even notice it at first because I was listening to the rumble of the Shelby Cobra Mustang. You heard that right, the two cars were parked right beside each other. The chances of that happening are slim to none, yet there I was to capture the photos. I wasn't the only one drooling over both cars though. I saw a few couples staring as they walked inside the store. Then I saw one young boy who worked for the store walking around the car taking videos for about 5 minutes. The thing is, everybody was looking at the Shelby Cobra Mustang and nobody but me realized how special the Porsche 911 992 was. I guess this is proof that Porsches are a real driver's car and Mustangs are for the everyday car lover.
I saw the same RS5 as last time, except this time I was able to get much better photos of it since I wasn't right outside of my customer's house like I was last time. I walked out of the store and parked up front was that grey RS5. I love it so damn much.
You may notice that I was barely able to capture the photo of the older of the two Porsches, the 991. The blue Porsche I saw followed behind me on my drive home. It was a few cars behind, but I made sure to maneuver myself into a position at the stop light where I could at least capture a glimpse.
The Subaru WRX STI was the only car that I had the chance to use my portrait mode on my iPhone. This I feel takes the best photographs as it adds a bokeh blur effect on the background and I just think it looks damn fine. The STI was inside my parking garage and it was parked in my spot. It was the weekend though so there is no problem with that. I consider my epic photos as payment.
I keep seeing Supras and I keep loving them more and more. Black seems to be the most common color, I've seen a few of those. I think that Turbulence Gray is the best-looking color. It looks like Titanium. It's too bad they don't offer that color on the latest models. If you see one of those, then you know it's not a 2023.
The Blue Ford Mustang Mach 1 was my favorite color of all the cars. That combo of blue and black just looks too damn cold, so icy.
Mercedes-Benz G50s are all over the place here and elsewhere in the USA. I see at least 3 or 4 of them regularly. Too bad this time I didn't get a photo of the white and black AMG model that I've seen from afar a few times. It's almost always older wives driving them too. Many girls love Jeep Wranglers, but a G-Wagon is the luxury/performance version that says the type of vehicle. I see the allure.
The Jaguar F-Type looked super dirty, but I still had to photograph it because I love that car. It was parked outside of this beautiful log cabin out on Sissonville Rd. If you aren't local, then you probably have no idea where that is, but it's pretty far out there.
Drop your comments below telling me which of the cars is your favorite.
