Mushroom porn

I have been more and more interested with mushrooms over the last few years and the more I learn about them, the more fascinating they are to me.

These mushrooms are a newer psychedelic strain called Albino Bluey Vuitton. It is crazy how fast the psychedelic mushroom world is changing. There are more and more of these newer strains being cultivated and then crossed to make newer strains.

Growing new strains of mushrooms is an entirely different process than creating new cannabis strains. It is pretty complicated and I can't grasp how it is done yet. It is a pretty scientific process that requires some specialized equipment.

Luckily for me, I have a friend that is willing to show me a few things about how it is all done. I talked to him about Hive while I was there and he seems pretty interested in the platform. He is part of a pretty large discord community for mycology as well, and I think it would be cool to be able to onboard a group of people like that.

Mycologists are an interesting breed. They see mushrooms as a living entity and it is cool hearing them talk about what the mycelium is doing at certain times. It is really cool learning about how it all works and the different stages that mushrooms go through from a spore to the actual mushroom body.

It is cool seeing different experiments that he had going on. Like this agar plate that has two different strains on it. Normally the mycelium would grow out and take over the entire plate, but the two strains stopped spreading and kind of formed a wall. Information is sent across the mycelial network, so I wonder if the two strains are communicating with each other.

Here is another agar plate and the mycelium looks like a solar system. If you have ever tripped on mushrooms before, it is pretty fascinating to think how this living organism actually can communicate with you.

I am hoping to begin learning and experimenting with mycology. It is a pretty fascinating field. My friend told me that there is much more to these organisms than just consuming them. I really think that mushrooms are going to help pave the way for humanity. Not just in expanding consciousness, but they are a way to heal the Earth as well. There are strains of mushrooms that are cleaning the nuclear radiation near Chernobyl.
