Well Hivers the sun is out so it’s another train ride to Exeter this time with my new Leica.

The plan is to try out some of the B&W setting on the new camera and do a little street photography with the Leica. Leaving the train at Exeter Central station in the the middle of the town is very handy it’s only a few minutes walk to the main shopping streets. Exeter is well served for trains there are 5 stations with in the city boundary’s which is rare these days.

It’s only a 5 minute walk to the cathedral from Exeter Central and that takes you past the famous Ship Inn one of the oldest pubs in Exeter dating back to the 15th or 16th century. There is supposedly some graffiti on the wall written Sir Frances Drake, it’s a good story anyway.

The cut through of Martin’s Lane brings you out on Cathedral Green and some more old buildings that surround it. This is Mol’s coffee house, Unfortunately no coffee since the late 1800s. If I remember correctly the ground floor was more recently of was a very posh ladies shoe shop.

I’m very impressed with the camera but I still need to play around with the settings to get the best from it looking at the menus it’s possible to tweak a lot of the settings and even add filters in the camera software.
