From my first professional camera (the Trusty GH4) to my current GH6 and all the in-betweens I've always carried one particular prime lens with me in my camera bag, almost all the time, especially when going for planned shoots (whether photography or videography). This lens has always been a part of my best shoots for the past couple of years.
For most portrait shots and video work with human subjects, the results of a fast lens always makes clients fall in love with your work very fast. That buttery shallow depth of field and razor sharp outline of your subject in the foreground always mesmerized them. This was almost my selling point for a long time😂, before I started to learn there were other parts to photography than just blurring the whole background. But that lens really did a great job.
It's no other than my Meke 35mm f1.7 prime lens for micro four thirds mount. It's a small lens made for micro four thirds cameras - it fits into my palm and I could easily pocket it.
It's a manual lens but it's so easy to use that I don't even have to think twice about how to use it each time for different scenarios.
The build in completely metal and glass with no plastic components except for the rear end cover, so it feels sufficiently weighted
It basically has a focus ring and an aperture ring, not too close or too far from each other, just spaced well enough for me to focus and adjust exposure almost simultaneously with 3 fingers. The ring movements are also smooth, although there ain't any zoom rings where smoothness is more obvious.
Coupled with my Lumix GH6
I have shot events from weddings to documentaries, corporate shoots, YouTube videos and done many portrait and product shoots with this lens.

This lens works perfectly in almost any scenario and I particularly like that I can adjust exposure without dealing with buttons on the camera body.
One other great advantage that this lens has is the way I use it for macro photography and videography. I simply just turn it the other way round and place it on my camera mount. Voila! I've got a super macro lens. I can similarly adjust focus and exposure, though lens artefacts tend to occur when I do this imporovisation sometimes.
But by and large this camera takes some of my best shots on a micro four thirds camera.
