I live close to a vineyard in which I walk and jog from time to time. I also have taken various photographs there which I shared here as well. It is a magical place where various local people come to walk their dogs, have dates with their loved ones, or merely to stand with a glass of wine in their hand to look at the sunset. I thought that this would be the perfect place to have a photoshoot with my girlfriend, @urban.scout. I also took her there on a date.
Now, as per usual, I want to share with you the product of our photoshoot and write a poem to her which I will share at the bottom of the post. For now, please enjoy the photographs of our photoshoot!
An Ode to the Girl Who I Could Never Write
An Ode to the Muse
beyond drunk words
beyond mere sober attention
beyond the leaves
that cover her innocence
I ponder the grace
of her beauty that destroyes
every second
of my wandering days
betwixt poetry and wine
fixed inside of drunken phrases
a muse wanders with me
through the vineyards
of my fermenting mind
labyrinths of straight lines
the beginning and end
meet with no fixed meaning
beyond drunk words
beyond mere sober attention
I remove the vines that cover
her innocence
to indulge in the wine
of her mind
Postscriptum, or Having Some Fun in the Vineyard
Life cannot just be work, we need to play and have some fun. The grapes are not for consumption but wine, so it is not the best eating experience. The skins are very bitter and harsh. But they pop! It is so much fun to just pop one out of its skin.
And after a hard day's work, you would just want to chill and do nothing, maybe it was from too much wine!
But that is if the wind does not get to you. The wind is born in the Cape, and for my girlfriend from the North where there is little wind, the Cape winds are something else.
All jokes aside, I hope you enjoyed this post and the poem. All of the photographs are my own, taken with my Nikon D300 and either my 50mm Nikkor lens, 300mm zoom lens, or the 18-70mm lens. The poem is also my own creation. I hope you are doing well, stay safe!
