Last week I had a bit of a setback with my groin injury.
Things were going pretty well for a while. I could ride my bicycle again and even went for a run a couple of times.
But earlier this week the injury flared up again. Not as bad as in the beginning, but still annoying.
At first I was pretty frustrated, but later I decided to just focus on the things I still can do instead of the things I can't at the moment.
And since it was nice and sunny, I went for a long walk right before sunset.

It was around 8PM in the evening and the sun was already low in the sky. I started my walk through a local park. The park is lushful and green. It has been quite warm and sunny in the past weeks, so the cow parsley has grown quite a bit.

After leaving the park I decided to walk towards a so-called polder area. It's a nice place with a few bodies of water and a lot of birds. To get there I had to cross some railroad tracks via this tunnel. Quite a contrast with the nature I had just walked in.

At the entrance of the area is an old windmll. I really liked this view with the setting sun, the windmill and its reflection and the reed in the front.

There weren’t many people around at the time I made my walk. It could be because it was already late, but also because there are many geese in the area. More about that later in this blog.

The sun already reached the horizon, so I had to increase my pace a bit. It doesn't get really dark immediately, but it does get a bit colder too near the lake.

And there were the first geese; two parents with two goslings. I came across quite a lof of them during my walk. They are very protective. The parents were hissing when I came to close to their offspring in their eyes. I walked around it in a wide arc.

The golden hour was already turning into the blue hour. The sky was already starting to turn from a bit orange/yellowish into a darker blue. As I walked there a lot of noise making geese flow over.

I told you there were a lot of geese. And by that I really mean a lot! There are literally hundreds of them in the area. When I tried to finish my round a group of them were blocking my path. I had to wait for a few minutes before I could pass.

When I finished my round the sun was completely down. I continued my walk in a more urban area and went back home. The walk not only gave me some nice pictures, but also improved my mood.
