Last Sunday, June 11th, I had an exciting day from which I have many photographs. I attended an event that gave me the opportunity to delve into the emergence of a new movement in urban culture in my city. This activity was specially made for local talents in the hip-hop scene, and I was fortunate to witness experienced dancers showcasing their skills while I dedicated myself to capturing everything I could.
It was an ideal occasion to create a large amount of content. I have been working in photography for a short time, and although I am taking my first steps, I have been improving, especially in the editing aspect. I wanted to explore these types of scenes to share them on my blog.
These photographs are just a sample of the dozens I took, but they represent almost half of what I was able to capture with the impressive camera capabilities of the Google Pixel. The ability to take photos in RAW format and then edit them to make them attractive and vibrant is truly amazing. It's not easy to photograph in motion, with low lighting or backlighting, so having so much material to work with feels spectacular to me.
While the Google Pixel 6 is still a couple of steps behind a true professional camera for this type of occasion, it performed very well. Most of what I captured is in video format, which you can easily see on my 3Speak channel.
The event was the Grand Dance Battle of the Alta Tensión (High Voltage) Academy, also known as AT Battle. This academy and its competition have gained recognition in our city. They are training dancers with great potential. If you want to know more about them, I invite you to follow them on their social media, where you will find a lot of interesting content about their performances.
This battle offered several moments of rest where the dance, instead of stopping, unleashed with even more freedom. There was always someone dancing, whether practicing routines for exhibition or improvising. Everyone gave their best at all times, regardless of whether they were competing or not. It was beautiful to witness so much passion concentrated in one place. There is something special about dance that can be felt in the air at the Alta Tensión facilities.
The photographs have a couple of Lightroom presets that I designed specifically for this occasion. The most common one was created for indoors, with light tones simulating different directions of artificial lighting. The other one was intended for outdoor photos, where backlighting predominated on a cloudy day.
I am still experimenting to achieve scenes that feel like part of a whole, but I believe I have maintained consistency across all the images.

El pasado domingo 11 de junio tuve un día emocionante del cual conservo muchas fotografías. Asistí a un evento que me brindó la oportunidad de adentrarme en el surgimiento de un nuevo movimiento de la cultura urbana en mi ciudad. Esta actividad estuvo dirigida especialmente a los talentos locales de la escena hiphop, y tuve la suerte de presenciar a experimentados bailarines mostrando sus habilidades mientras me dedicaba a capturar todo lo que podía.
Fue una ocasión ideal para crear una gran cantidad de contenido. He estado trabajando en fotografía desde hace poco tiempo y, aunque estoy dando mis primeros pasos, he ido mejorando, especialmente en el aspecto de la edición. He querido explorar este tipo de escenas para compartirlas en mi blog.
Estas fotografías son solo una muestra de las decenas que tomé, pero representan casi la mitad de lo que pude capturar con la impresionante capacidad de la cámara del Google Pixel. La posibilidad de tomar fotos en formato RAW y luego editarlas para hacerlas atractivas y llenas de vida es realmente sorprendente. No es fácil fotografiar en movimiento, con poca iluminación o contraluz, por lo que tener tanto material para trabajar me parece espectacular.
Si bien el Google Pixel 6 aún está un par de pasos por detrás de una verdadera cámara profesional para este tipo de ocasiones, ha cumplido muy bien su función. La mayoría de lo que capturé está en formato de video, el cual pueden ver fácilmente en mi canal de 3Speak.
El evento fue la Gran Batalla de Baile de la Academia Alta Tensión, también conocida como AT Battle. Esta academia y su competencia han ganado renombre en nuestra ciudad. Están formando a bailarines con un gran potencial. Esta batalla ofreció varios momentos de descanso donde el baile, en lugar de detenerse, se desataba con mayor libertad. Siempre había alguien bailando, ya sea practicando rutinas para exhibición o improvisando. Todos dieron lo mejor de sí en todo momento, sin importar si estaban compitiendo o no. Fue hermoso presenciar tanta pasión concentrada en un solo lugar. Hay algo especial en el baile que se respira en el aire de las instalaciones de Alta Tensión.
Las fotografías tienen un par de ajustes preestablecidos de Lightroom que diseñé especialmente para esta ocasión. El más común fue creado para interiores, con tonos de luz que simulaban diferentes direcciones de la iluminación artificial. El otro fue pensado para las fotos en exteriores, donde predominaba la contraluz en un día nublado.
Aún estoy experimentando para lograr escenas que se sientan como parte de un todo, pero creo haber mantenido la consistencia en todas las imágenes.
