Aside from digital arts, another hobby of mine is photography. It was when I was in high school that I got interested in this field. Perhaps, as a child, I have always loved art in any form. Photography for me is like putting memories in a physical copy. So, here is a little story about how it all started.
Back then, I do not have the money to have my own camera, so I was using our family digicam, those easy point-and-shoot cameras. If I can remember, the brand was Canon. Most of the time, I volunteer myself to take pictures of gatherings such as birthdays, reunions, etc. Also, I am shy in front of the camera, so it is a win-win for me HAHA! :D
When I had the money and saved a bit, I bought a DSLR. What I bought was the Nikon D5100. What I liked about the camera is I can flip the screen so that I can see myself when taking pictures. Sadly, I have to sell it because I need money-- and that is when I also lose interest in photography.
I got the sparks back in 2017. My boyfriend at that time got a GoPro because, at that time, I traveled a lot. This is when I enjoyed watching photography tutorials, just those free ones on YouTube.
I do not know really what type of photography I was going for, but a lot of my shots are nature and sceneries.
I always see this random purple flower in the pathway. They come in together in one spot. I cannot find a similar one on Google, though.
Now, I got a phone with a really good camera, which I used to capture crisp and detailed shots. I got the Huawei with Leica. Leica is a company that specializes in good lenses. That is the very reason why I bought this phone. I am so happy that I bought it, and no regret at all.
Right now, I am interested in macro shots in nature. Mostly, I find bugs and insects on my Sunday morning walks. Hitting two birds with one stone, right? :D
In addition to my phone, I also have two macro lenses— the 25mm Macro Nikon Lensbong and a Lensbong Extreme.
Here are some of my macro shots. These were taken in different days.
It is hard to get the right angle of this one because the bee keeps flying around the flower. I just realized that the yellow thing on its body are pollens. Amazing~
I do not know the name of this flower. It has long leaves around the stick of flowers. Very tiny petals with yellow anthers. Can you find the bug? :D
This is a dead bug :( Because I noticed that even if I take my lens super close, the bug won't move. I think he was frozen by the night. This picture was taken arounf 7 am, and what I know is, bugs are very active in the morning compared to afternoon and night. Based on what I have found on Google, this is a common green bottle fly.
I need to crouch down low (my poor back) to take this picture because it was so small. Plus, ya girl has shaky hands. So, a lot of effort just to take this picture, but all worth it. :D
Since the late November, I have not used my lenses to take pictures because I was so busy for the incoming holiday at that time. I just miss walking and randomly taking pictures of flowers.
I do hope that my schedule with permit me this time.
For now, photography is just my hobby. I am just enjoying the clicks and angles. I am not really aiming to be a professional photographer, but who knows, right? :D
Cheers!
That is it for this blog. I will see you at the next one!
