When I was a child, I spent time going to church to attend Mass, and one of my desires is to become an altar server to serve the priest. Every time I attend Holy Mass, I am observing how they act on the altar and how curious I am to be like them also. But since I am a shy type of person, I don't know what to do or where to go to attend the training to be an Altar Server.
When I was 16 years old, a Grade 10 student at Don Celestino Martinez Sr. At Taytayan Integrated School, every time there is a catechism, I will ask the catechist who is the president of the altar server in order for me to know where to go. At first I was hesitant to approach the president, but then again I faced my fear. It was February 13, 2019 and it was my birthday that I had the courage to face the President of the Altar Server to attend the said training.
And my journey as a server continues up until the present. And then, when I was in Grade 12 at City of Bogo Senior High School, my ambition was to be a priest someday. And with that, I'm trying to do my best to enroll at San Carlos Seminary College located at Mabolo, City Cebu. I go there to pass my requirements to take the exam, and luckily I passed. I was very proud of myself at that time. I know that God has always had a better plan for me. A lot of challenges when I'm trying to enroll first in my medical. When the doctor told me that my x-ray has a negative result. There is a suspicious smell in my left lungs. And with that, I really felt sad since one of the requirements to enter the seminary is being physically fit. I cried a lot in the church. I was talking to God that maybe my desire to be a priest will stop there. And then again, I was scheduled to take another x-ray to test if there is truly a defect on my left lungs, but luckily it turns positive. And there, I realized how powerful prayer is. Form a negative x-ray into a positive one. And my spirit ignited again, thinking maybe this will be the starting point of my journey.
