During my trip to Darjeeling, I spent most of my time travelling in a cab. And I was able to see major attractions of Darjeeling. As COVID Omicron variant cases were at peak during February 2022, many of the places like Buddhist monasteries were closed. One of the main thing I experienced was the touch of a cold snow for the first time. While it was not snowing during the time I went there, this snow on the road was actually the snow that didn't melt for the last 9 days. Due to the cold weather, fog and forest of pine and juniper, sun rarely gets here. Darjeeling had the greatest snowfall for the first time in its history during that time. I saw the snow for the first time in my life and also my wife.
I stopped here for a moment to have some warm tea as Darjeeling is famous for its tea leaves that get exported to Europe. It was not only tea I stopped here for, I also tasted Darjeeling MOMO at this place (though forgot to click photo) and also to look at those houses built along the hills.
A railway track through which you train runs in Darjeeling. I saw that mainly jeeps and cabs run around the roads along with some buses motorcycles, and other vehicles.
The cab driver dropped us here for some few minutes and told us that our former respected king Birendra studied at this school. Monarchism had been abolished here and is a federal democratic Republic country. I loved the Catholic structure of this school. The school was closed due to the third wave pandemic.
