Concert Photography: Nestor at RadioBob! Rockcamp

Continuing my photography journey at Kiel Week, I turned my lens toward the Swedish rock band Nestor and was completely swept away. 🤘 From the moment they launched into “On the Run”, I felt the energy pulse through the crowd and straight into my camera. Even now, “Unchain My Heart” echoes in my mind, and I have to admit that as soon as they struck the first chord on stage, I was glued to the action, nodding along and unable to resist joining in with every riff. Their powerful stage presence and tight musicianship reminded me vividly of Led Zeppelin, which in my book is high praise and something I’m more than happy to celebrate.

Learning that Nestor first came together in 1989 when they were each about fifteen years old adds another layer of admiration for me. They then stepped away in 1995 as life’s responsibilities took precedence, only to reignite their passion for music and reunite in 2021. It’s fascinating to think that today’s lineup includes police officers, teachers and tattoo artists all sharing the same stage, mixing their day jobs with this electrifying rock sound. This unexpected combination makes me appreciate their music even more because it proves that real talent can come from anywhere.
