The most beautiful places are often the most hidden ones, that are not so easy to reach. One of these hidden little spots on this planet, where we are all passengers, reveals to be placed at the top of the mountains. In order to see them, one has to be fit and have strong resilience. It’s tiring for sure, but it’s worth visiting them and enjoying the spectacular view.

Well, the journey started in the woods. It was a sunny day, but still it felt colder because of the fresh air coming from the mountains and the trees. Soon, while walking, step by step, to the next destination, it gets warmer and easier to manage.

Still, the journey has just begun. It’s a long way to go. On the way up, occasional breaks are needed. As we continue, more interesting spots and views appear. Amazed and surprised at the same time, but tired. Step by step, up and further, again, with resilience and determination, to reach the destination and unravel a new one after that one, we continue. The resilience is put to the test.

Finally, the alpine lakes reveal themselves, greeted by the sun and sky, showing off their colours. Silence. When the wind stops, there’s no breeze, nothing, just the absolute silence. Such a peaceful place. There are not many people, which feels at the same time both nice and frightening.

There were several lakes, but at the top, the last one looks quite spectacular. It’s getting colder. The Alps embrace the lakes and start making shadows. It’s time to go. All the way down. It’s getting later and darker, but it still feels like the adventure.

Legs are tired, but the mind still wants to go on. So we push forward. Step by step.
It’s a nice feeling, being able to see something so beautiful thanks to our own strength. Not many people are able to see it and experience these moments firsthand, so I feel grateful that I had this moment and that I can share it with those who can’t.

The alpine lakes remain alone, waiting for their next visitors, playing with the reflections of the mountains and the sky, welcoming anyone who passes by, yet preserving their peace and environment. While not being so easily reachable, it’s also a good thing, because these surroundings remain untouched and preserved. The nature as it is, not modified or destroyed.

If you want to find some peace, breath a fresh air and have some real in person postcards, there are always some nice places to go to, like the alpine lakes.
