A long time ago this was a place that people called their home. It’s quite unimaginable to think that people used to live in places like this. More than four thousands years ago this was a house, built with hands and lived. No windows, just one door and the stairs leading up to the top of the roof to observe possible threats. Who would have imagined that we would have the present as we have it to this day? It seems quite impossible to live in a place like that.
Many things have changed and we got used to having comfort. Some never think that the comfort we have is enough and think that it can always be better. But if we take a brief look at the past, how the things actually used to be, we would immediately find that the place we live in, with any small imperfection or lack of space or whatever we might find as a downside, is indeed a luxury compared to how the house used to be.
And yet people lived there, with their own life stories. They lived, loved and lost. More people came. Then went. New generations came. Things changed. Hundreds and hundreds of years went by. And we arrived to now, to this present day.
Who knows if one day someone will look at our house and wonder at the lifestyle we had and how we used to live? Who knows how the houses will look then? Our present, a very distant future, to the people who lived in the past, was quite unimaginable, even to the most creative mind of all. Just as it is for us regarding the times that will come ahead.
We have nothing less, but to embrace the present tense and enjoy our time being, appreciative of the past that brought us here.
