Welcome to the next episode of photo-series dedicated to hiking adventures. This is the second day of our trek through The Krkonoše Mountains. If you missed the first day, it is covered in this post. Enjoy😉
After we finish our breakfast at The White Elbe chalet, we set out for a journey. We follow this river - White Elbe.
There are several waterfalls/cascades on the river. This one is called Velký vodopád (The Great Fall)😁
Passing by this electricity pole with amazing patterns.
At ski resort, Medvědín, Špindlerův Mlýn. Czech speakers may appreciate the billboard.
Local goats, Líza and Róza.
The man in the green coat, that is Krakonoš (Rübezahl, Karkonosz) - a mountain spirit of these mountains. Well, this one is from known resort Špindlerův Mlýn. If you zoom in on him, you will see his special cane with an animal.
We better leave this busy tourist town and climb up a bit to see some nature.
Interior of a chapel above the place called David's Huts.
You can also find this sculpture of St. Bernard around there.
At last! Having a good beer (by Kocour brewery) at the chalet Moravská bouda (1225 m.a.s.l.). Yummy!
Landscape at some 1,3km above the sea level.
This rock formation (1414 m.a.s.l.) has lovely name - Dívčí kameny (loosely translated as Maiden/Girl's stones).
Few hundreds meters further, who would expect it - Mužské kameny (Man's stones), 1417 m.a.s.l.
Another rock on the road.
The highest mountain of Czechia (1603 m.a.s.l.), Sněžka, in the distance (that tip).
Now the fun about to begin! Here is legend - that rounded mountain is called Vysoké Kolo (The High Wheel), 1509 m.a.s.l. That tiny tip on it, those are remains of Wilhelm I Hohenzollern's monument. That building (churchlike from this spot) in the background is a transmission tower at Polish side.
Going around the mountain Vysoké Kolo as it is not allowed to climb it up.
Exceptional views (this is the Polish side)!
Now the aforementioned tower which is located above Snow pits.
It is freakingly cool!
It is windy in this place!
The tower -> Snow pits -> Vysoké Kolo.
The tower on the mountain Vysoká pláň (1497 m.a.s.l.).
Vysoké Kolo with the monument in the center of the image.
Poland.
6 PM, time to get to our shelter soon.
Some stones (sorry, do not recall its name, wonder if it has any) 😁
It's getting dark.
The highest peak in this image is the mountain Szrenica with a hut of the same name (1362 m.a.s.l.).
Sun goes down.
It is 7 PM, we just arrive at our shelter - Vosecká bouda (1250 m.a.s.l.)
Enjoying last sunrays.
Enjoying local beer (by Rohozec Brewery) now inside the chalet.
Since this chalet is in the middle of nowhere, there is no power in rooms. So this is the only chance how to recharge your phone.
~Itinerary.
I am not local, so please forgive me any discrepancies. If there are any, let me know, I will be happy to fix it.
Photos were taken by elderly smartphone Honor-something😶
