First up, I will show you a rainbow at the end of our short trip and then you will see a video of the wind at our earlier destination being the river. Five amazing sights.
Now how's this, five sights normally take a whole day, and all of this in one hour. One hour was all that we had to get out.
Our thought was to go and get a sandwich at a food trailer in the public park near the river as the lady that owns the trailer makes nice and fresh high quality salami sandwiches. The good thing is that they are reasonably priced and very tasty.
We have a favorite spot next to the river. We found a bench and we sat there to eat our sandwiches. The wind was howling, and I decided to make a short video in order for you to hear the wind.
This below is the view of the river from the bench that we were sitting on.
Listen and see how the trees and the bushes dance in the wind.
The first sight as we walked to the footpath that leads down to the river.
A pair of mating butterflies.
Now here was the second sight.
Two Italian Greyhounds came to the bench to greet us.
This was the third sight and my first time to get one.
We heard the loud call of the bird and a lady that walked past stopped to search the high and dense tree for what she called a Diedericks Cuckoo. But she couldn't see it and she moved on. You guys at #featheredfriends will love this!
This led to my search of the tree and finally there it was. Not a Diederick's Cuckoo, and it was singing it's famous three notes. It is a Red-chested Cuckoo, and it was an adult male (Cuculus solitarius).
It was just so wow! I have heard them and now I have one.
Then the 4th sight on our way back.
I thought that the little flying insects were midgets and kept walking through them unperturbed. But then one landed on my wife's neck and she shouted that it was bees as one had stung her in the neck.
She was more worried about me to get out of there due to my bee sting allergy and I hurriedly got away from there. The wind obviously disturbed the bee's hive in the bush behind them as there were literarily hundreds flying around all confused. Thankfully my wife is not allergic to bees, and we removed the sting.
And finally our 5th sight on the road back home.
Now look at this! What a sight as we saw this ancient truck and I followed it to get some shots.

Makes your head spin, doesn't it? All of this in one hour and my best moment was to get that Cuckoo at last. Life is like that, as on some days there are surfeits and other days there is unforgiving blandness.
But then again, it keeps a person balanced as nature is a great conditioner. Go into nature in a bad mood and nature will soon lift your mood, but then again, return from nature in a good mood and some problem will arrive at home to put one into a bad mood.
The trick is to learn to accept all that life throws at us, as then we will remain balanced.
However, the problem that I have is that nature doesn't accept anything artificial and the handful of tablets that I have to take every day really disturbs much in my life. It is almost like nature senses this and that's why it blesses me with all of these great sights.
Such is life!
