Four power cuts per day and rain are not conducive to a warm winter.
But the birds and nature don't mind the conditions, as they simply continue as normal.
We have certainly complicated our lives as humans with all of our "comfortable" inventions. If I think back to the old days, we had paraffin oil lamps for lights at home and stoves for hot water. Hot coats for winter and bricks warmed on the stove for hot water bottles in bed :)
But then, mankind is a funny animal, as it strives for comfort, ease and speed. People are crying here because their comfort is disturbed by a lack of electricity and loss of IT signals. We have become totally dependent upon our inventions. I think that all of the residents in nature are laughing at us, as we struggle along like babies whose toys were taken away.
So, come and walk with me on a rainy day.
I stopped on our way back home to show you what our roads looked like on a day like this.
A bit wet all over methinks :)
And finally, this goose made itself at home on a church roof.
Not the normal abundance of birds to be seen, but it's understandable due to the weather. I think that many male birds are at home at the insistence of their wives, to fix some roof leaks and do other chores at home.
Jokes aside, if we take a good look at nature, we will see that the residents of nature have a very simple life. The basics are that they have to eat, to wash, to procreate and to sleep. That's it in a nutshell. They use daylight to work and at night they sleep.
Now I know that mankind is very different and that we have to ruin the planet in our selfish strive for perfection, or progress as we call it, but it's a misnomer, as for instance, tiny plastic particles are now gradually killing life on earth. It is one thing to create, and quite another to destroy. As pills designed to heal, have dire side-effects, just so do many of our inventions have the same. Regular scientific warnings about the dangers are released, but to no avail, as profits are regarded as more important. Watch a video about the stripping of the rainforests if you want evidence of mankind's destruction.
Such is life.
And That's All Friends.
