Every city has something that a tourist cannot and must not neglect. Is it possible to visit Prague and not see the Old Town Clock? Is it possible to visit Moscow and miss Red Square? To not see the Statue of Liberty when you are in New York?
For Maastricht, such a symbol is the river and the bridge that gave the city its name. I mean, technically, it's not the original bridge that was taken by water six centuries ago, but who cares.
