Recently, we've been having those cold and windy days, but it doesn't stop us from going out for walks. We had way too warm February and beginning of March this year, but last couple of weeks have been colder than the winter months. We started to wear winter jackets again. It's confusing as it looks warm when you look out of the window but as soon as you're out of the door you change your opinion 🙂
Let's go for a sunny but freezing walk now!
We already have spring vibes and it would be great if temperature would reflect that. There are still a couple of cold days ahead of us and then it should change. I'm waiting for those warmer days as I'm excited to start my garden this year. But for now, let's focus on our walk.
I must admit that the river Rhine has a special place in my heart. This time we walked from Schaffhausen to Buchthalen, but there are many other paths that you can take. We come to the river all year long and it never bores us. You can walk along its river bed, go cycling, play various sports such as badminton or ping pong, have picnic with your friends or barbeque with your family. We are truly grateful to live in this area.
Schaffhausen is one of those cities that I can visit million times and I won't get bored or fed up with it. It's much smaller than Zurich and I like it as it has a special atmosphere that you can only find in small cities. I love coming here on Saturday to the farmer's market as we have our sellers who became our friends and it's not only about purchasing of vegetables but also about having friendly chat and maybe a laugh as well.
I already told you about this promenade but it has a different vibe each day, so I think it's not too bad to see it again 🙂 Can you see those people in the back? Look how small they are in comparison to those trees. When you're there you don't realize how huge they are, but when you look back at your photos you can clearly see it.
And this is how it looks like when you're standing under those trees. They provide a lot of shade that is needed during hot summer days.
Green and blue go together so well...
I'm still hoping that one day I will see how people get on these boats. They are quite far away from the path and I have no idea how it works. When I'll see someone getting on I will let you know 🙂
There will be so much green in the upcoming weeks. You can see a road on the other side of the river (in the middle of the hill). We won't be able to see it in a few weeks.
I haven't noticed these flowers before. I don't know this tree but the flowers look very interesting. There are not many blossoms with the same colour.
Some boats are covered to protect them from rain. We saw some boats that were full of water due to frequent rain during the last few months.
There are city gardeners who take care of the flora around the city. This is what I like about Switzerland. Our taxes are used in a way that we can see every day 🙂
You can see that the trees are strong and healthy.
There were not so many people around which we enjoyed...
There were plenty of seagulls (as always) and many swans. I used to admire swans for their grace and beauty until I saw the way they are mating. It was so brutal that I couldn't watch. Well, it's not that we were following them but they were not exactly hiding 🙂
Looks like the owners of two boats didn't use them since February as these flags are there from the carnival.
Seagulls don't mind the weather. They were enjoying the sun and resting.
They are the best models, but they don't have too much patience, so you need to be fast if you want to take a photo 🙂
Once we walked back to the city we treated ourselves with a cup of tea as we were cold. Then we walked back home and enjoyed the rest of the day...
Until the next time...
