Barefoot paddle boarding on a partially frozen over lake? NOPE!
I took Quill dog on a walk yesterday along the shoreline of Boca Reservoir, here in Truckee, California. No skis or snowshoes, I just felt like taking it easy and I did a little fishing with the Yoyito hand reel (no luck). While out there I suddenly noticed this guy... this crazy guy... paddle boarding through the big cracks in the surface ice on the water.
At first, I thought "cool"! Then I noticed he was barefoot and I thought "cold!!!" Again, NOPE.
This guy is tougher than me. How about you? Would you try barefoot paddle boarding through the ice?
Come to think of it, Quill dog is a lot tougher than me too. He went swimming in the icy water. And again, while we were out backcountry cross country skiing this morning, he took a quick dip in nearby Alder Creek, which is flowing strong from all the snow melt. No shivering, he loves it. Here he is yesterday, wanting to play fetch with a stick that was a bit too big for him. Crazy dog.
I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy some outdoor time too. Cheers!
