I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Trails and Vistas Art Hike here in the Tahoe area. It used to be an annual event. I've been shooting since 2009 but due to its popularity, it is now happening twice a year. Usually, the event happens in September and it still will be happening then. However this added hike offered the bonus element of WILDFLOWERS!!! One of my favorite subject matters.
The flowers were mostly all late season bloomers but just like in the spring, the summer flowers up here have been incredible this year. The weather for the hike was perfect, warm but not too hot. The wind wasn't bad. However... the mosquitoes were bad. I ended up using two different types of bug spray and they were still biting.
Here's a few of the photos from the hike, in no particular order. These were all shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens. A flash was used for most of the people photos. To find out more about Trails and Vistas and the performers, please visit their website at www.trailsandvistas.org. Thank you for looking and I hope you all are having a great day!
