Sky Gazing at the Bus Stop

Hey there, wholesome reader!

There’s something oddly poetic about waiting for the bus.

You’re suspended in time: not quite where you were, not yet where you’re going. And in that pause, especially on a quiet afternoon or a breezy morning, the sky becomes a perfect companion.

Lately, I’ve made a habit of looking up while waiting. The clouds, the colors, the way the light scatters; it's all fleeting, yet somehow calming. No two skies ever look the same to me, and I think that’s part of the charm.

One moment it’s soft and pastel, like watercolors bleeding into each other. The next, it’s dramatic, moody clouds rolling in with the kind of weight that makes you want to write a poem or curl up with a book.

And so I started taking pictures.

At first, it was just to pass the time. Open the camera, snap a photo, maybe zoom in on a cloud that looks like something else.

But yesterday afternoon, I noticed two small birds perched on top of a lamp post. They weren’t just sitting, they looked like they were deep in conversation. Beak to beak, facing each other like old friends catching up. I quickly took a photo, trying not to disturb their moment.

That picture is now one of my favorites.

Some days, the sky rewards me with cotton candy sunsets. Other times, it’s just gray, soft and sleepy. But either way, it reminds me that even ordinary moments like waiting for a bus can hold a kind of quiet magic if you just look up.

So here’s a little reminder: next time you’re stuck waiting, whether it’s for a ride, a message, or something more, take a second to look around you. Take a picture. Take a breath. Who knows? You might just catch two birds mid-conversation.
