Today I bring you this series of photos where the main focus is on architecture in its various forms. These are buildings located in the city where I live, Puerto Ordaz, Bolívar State, Venezuela. This city has seen significant development in the past, as well as the scope of large-scale architectural plans. Although there aren't many new projects recently, at least you can appreciate the gems that still exist in the city and that were part of that development.
For me, traditional architecture has always been a way to harmonize with photography. It's about being able to appreciate the details and forms of those designs built by the hand of man. It's about being able to capture that design from different perspectives, with the intention of creating a composition that generates harmony—or at least that's what I believe when composing this type of photography.
Of course, I'm not an architect, much less an expert, but this type of photography has always caught my attention. From the moment I first encountered it, aside from landscape and street photography, I've always had the intention of composing photos with architectural motifs, perhaps because I've always loved the look of cities with their grand works and everything that creates harmony within them.
Here we can see a variety of photos with details of those architectural aspects I appreciate, both in color and black and white, so we can admire them under different photography styles. Consequently, photography and architecture have much more in common due to everything involved when it comes to composing, creating, and harmonizing.
All photographs are my own.
