Last Saturday, before meeting with my friends, I went to Yoyogi Park. Actually, my initial plan was to go to another park to see the Plum Festival but I'll be meeting my friends at 4 PM, and time check: it's 3 PM. π
I'll be so late if I pushed through my initial plan so I went to Yoyogi Park instead, which is just less than 30 mins train ride from where I live. I got off at Harajuku station and aarrgh, I totally forgot this place is always crowded especially on weekends. I arrived around 3:30 PM and immediately went past the crowd to get to the park.
It's not yet officially Spring in Japan but these cherry blossoms are already blooming. Why? This kind of cherry blossom is the first to bloom. They're called ζ²³ζ΄₯γγγ (read as kawazu sakura).
It's funny because all over the park are just dead trees or large ones with only brown and green colors but in this area, it's so pink.
If you aren't sure where to go since the park is so wide, try to look for the fountain in the middle of a pond-like area.
Although there were many people near the station, there wasn't that a lot in the park, especially in this area where the cherry blossoms were. There were more foreigners than Japanese though. Probably they're tired of looking at cherry blossoms or they didn't know it's in full bloom here in this place.
I didn't regret coming here to see the cherry blossoms. Now I'm not sure when to see the Plum Festival because maybe they're past their full bloom this weekend. But anyways, I got to enjoy a quick fix of seeing flowers.
And because I was enjoying taking photos and looking at the pink flowers, I was so fashionably late in meeting my friends. π
Thanks for reading!
See you around! γγγγγΎγγοΌ
