Rising Star - I choose one song per day, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Gentleman: PSY

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

After I finished going through the hundred songs provided by Spotify that I listened to the most in the last year, I have thought of adding songs of my choice from my "Like" list that has more than 1000 songs. The last song I talked about in my last post was: Pasos al costado of the argentine rock-group Turf.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Gentleman of the korean artist PSY.

The other day I was talking about a song that I heard again thanks to a reel on Instagram. The song in question was Gangnam Style, one of the most famous songs of those years. I remembered that for a few months the horse dance was completely trendy and it was impossible not to see something related to it every day.

The success of this song was worldwide, achieving one billion views on Youtube, something that had never happened before. Google had to update the system to allow more numbers in the visits.

While I was preparing the publication of the other day, I was listening to some of the most famous songs of the artist. I came across a song that I didn't know was his, but I liked it a lot: Gentleman.

PSY was one of the key figures in the globalization of the Korean music industry, opening the doors to a wider audience in the West. Nowadays, Korean bands are often trending all over the world, but at that time the situation was very different.

Park Jae-sang (PSY) was born in 1977 in Seoul, South Korea. From a wealthy family, he studied business administration at one of the most famous universities in the United States. However, he did not like to study, so he decided to dedicate himself to what he loved the most: music. He enrolled at Berklee College of Music, a prestigious college for musicians. A few years later, he dropped out to start his music career in Korea with his album PSYcho World!

Gentleman was released in 2013, shortly after the worldwide phenomenon of Gangnam Style. With this song, PSY sought to build on the momentum of his global success and prove that he was not simply a one-hit-wonder artist.

The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago, using the Hive Tools application.
