Rising Star - My Daily song choice, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Barracuda: Heart

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

Starting in May, I started to create a playlist to keep track of the last songs I commented on in my posts. It will be useful for me not to doubt if I had already talked about a song before or not. The last song is La Grasa de las Capitales of the argentine band Seru Giran.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Barracuda of the iconic band Heart.

I always talk about the influence of video games when "recommending" music to us thanks to its appearances in scenes, combat and other situations. I could talk about games like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 that has a beautiful soundtrack that accompanies the Medieval Bohemia where the game is set, the same with The Witcher 3. Or games like Grand Theft Auto that has songs in their stations of various genres, with songs of high level.

If there is a game that was very important in influencing me in music and sometimes I forget to mention it, it is Guitar Hero III. I remember that when I was 7-10 years old I had a Playstation 2 and one of the most popular games of the moment was Guitar Hero, so I didn't hesitate to buy it to see what was going on. This game was the first one that opened the doors to international rock, where I ended up discovering many songs like Slow Ride, Mississipi Queen, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Paint It Black, Barracuda, Sunshine of Your Love, Welcome to the Jungle, Bulls On Parade and Back In Black.

I ended up loving the game from minute one, which led me to ask my mother to buy me the guitar that connected to the PS2 and had all the buttons of the game, to pretend to be a rockstar. One of my favorite songs is Barracuda from the band Heart.

Heart is one of the most famous American rock bands of the 1970s, fronted by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson. It is one of the few successful classic rock bands to have two women fronting the band.

Their debut album, "Dreambot Annie," was released in 1975 and was quite successful, featuring songs like "Magic Man" and "Crazy on You." However, their real success came in 1977 with their album "Little Queen," which features the iconic song "Barracuda." This is a critique of the music industry and rumors of sexual impositions by their record label.

Heart's song "Barracuda" is also featured in the prestigious Guitar Hero series, which, in its third installment, gave the song even greater visibility among younger generations.
